Mayweather would've had a much tougher time with Clottey.

Floyd would chop Clottey with hooks to the body if he left that area exposed, he's a better body puncher than Pacquiao. Clottey would open up more against Floyd because he doesn't throw those long combinations anymore, but that would be to Mayweathers advantage as he'd be able to land his body shots and the left hook often. It would probably look like Mayweather vs Mosley but worse. Floyd would likely win a UD, but Clottey would be a lot more competitive than Mosley, IMO. Clottey didn't throw a lot punches because Pacquiao hits very hard and quick from different angles and he throws expansive combinations. Against Floyd, Clottey wouldn't be intimidated by the punching power or 1-3 combinations Floyd sometimes throws. Floyd would find some opening to the body as Cotto Judah, and Pacquiao did, but I think Clottey's style could allow him to land his share of precision punches as well. It would probably be less than thrilling fight, because both guys are natural counter punchers, who wait on their opponent.

Punch output.. it's what made Pacquiao dominant the hole night. He never let Clottey get off. Mayweather throws around 30 punches a round. It wouldn't have been enough to keep Clottey off of him. Anyone hating on this win is lying to themselves. Cotto struggled with Clottey, Margarito struggled with Clottey.. Manny came in and dominated him. It's a true testament off just how good his skills have improved and how great he has become. Mayweather would've beat Clottey.. but it would've been a close fight, not a landslide decision. :lol1: :lol1:
