To be honest yes i have lost some respect for him. I know thats his style and all that but c'mon you gotta take chances! Your fighting against arguably the best fighter in the world, why not take chances? Just leave it all in the ring. I would have rather him be KO'D trying to win, versus not trying at all. I expected more from him.:nonono:
he took 1,200 plus punches vs pac & not a scratch on him & he was standing. much respect. Its not as if he was pretending & fooling everybody he was mike tyson. He is what he is & it showed. The only people who are surprised are the ones who dont follow boxing & clottey's career.
Yes I have as much respect for clottey as I do a heavy bag at the boxing gym lol naw but seriously the in bold is real talk you can't expect a fighter to just become a different fighter all of a sudden.
naw i respect him but pacman forced a tough dude to become a

hard to believe but he was scared out of his shell, so to speak.
Not at all. I'm definitely disappointed in him though, because he knew he couldn't fight his usual fight and win. He just don't bring a plan B if things don't go his way. But he did the best he could and never resigned himself to just running or clinching to try to survive. I still respect him, but I don't wanna see him get any more big fights until he beats another good fighter.
Standing covered up is not doing everything to win. You dont get points for that.

You come and fight for your daughter and your country. You dont stand there covered up when you arent hurt or tired. Hes a disgrace.
agreed!!!!! Thats not how its done.
Very disappointed in Clottey. You want to be considered among the best, then you do things that force us to see you in that light. He showed me nothing new last night, while Pac continues to improve.
Of course not, simply Clottey's style.
to not throw punches for entire fight? i think not.
yes i lost a ton of respect for clottey. he fought like a bitch and steward said someting to that effect. throw a fekkin punch, pussy.

LOL exactly. This is professional boxing which is the sport Clottey chose. Clottey fought exactly like he did in his sparring sessions that I saw. Taking multiple punches on the arms and gloves while rarely firing back. Even when Pacquiao was in defense mode covering up Clottey still refused to throw punches at him. No excuse for that performance but I was not surprised and predicted this would happen.

He could have put up more of an attempt to fight, I agree but He would have eaten a ton of punches and probably gotten ko'd in the mid rds
People want to trash him but what would any of you guys do in the ring against Pac?
What could he have done? Fight more? and end up with a broken face and beaten a well?
When a guy is hitting you like that, you either lose ugly or pretty. Pretty when you face doesn't have like 3 cuts and a black eye, ugly when you look like Cotto and DLH at the end of a fight

Yall keep on giving oscar hell for that fight but first off Oscar was you guys type of fighter... A guy who takes on all comers and creates great fights against the best the guy made a fight with pac and made a goal of coming down to 147 that was too much for him and left him in piss poor boxing shape and yall just turned your back on his ass. You guys are the very reason why I think a fighter should think the biggest event first rather than go for the most challenging fight because at first sight of weakness yall tear this dudes whole career apart. GET OFF THIS DUDE BACK HE MADE THE DECISION AFTER A LONG CAREER OF INSPIRING FIGHTS TO STEP OUT OF A FIGHT HE COULDN'T WIN TO STAY FACE AND NOT RISK HIS HEALTH FURTHER. yall need to give that shit a rest.
Yes, I've lost respect for him.
He was basically trying to survive and not actually win the fight. I thought he would've at least tried to exchange more but he didn't. It ended up being a boring fight.
Yea because Oscar was in his prime right??
I could care less if he wasn’t; it was Oscar who called Manny out prime or not it didn’t change the outcome….
