That card hurt boxing more than helped it, the more PPV's it did the more damage done to fan willingness to buy PPV's, hopefully as few people as possible saw that sh-t...
People use to say the same thing when Tyson was KO'ing fools in 1 round.
Any fight that gets people interested in the sport is good. I know girls who were watching this. And you also have to think about the young new fans who will watch it and see boxing on a major stage for the first time. This is how boxing will build it's future fans.
Not every fight can be great, and I'll admit I was angry watching the undercards. That shit needs to change asap.
But boxing lives and dies with it's stars. Superstars build fan bases which in turn become boxing fans. And that's what fights like this do for the sport.
The truest post in this thread.
if you hated this PPV that much, i can't imagine how much hate you hold for Mayweather ones.
Wrong, not many real boxing fans complain about Mayweathers performances.
I felt bad for all the people who came over..and I even hyped it up because it was gonna be at the Cowboys stadium...
Last nights entire card was an EPIC FAIL!

what kind of thread is this? where is the contribution to the community?
quit putting out negative hate garbage man ... people are trying to have a good day.
Why did pac fight these two then? Because he knew he just had to watch a tape for hatton and drain ODLH down to win. Was it wrong for him to do it? No, eveybody tries to give himself an advantage in these things. But a lot of pac fans don't see that Manny does cherry pick as much as other fighters. They took those fights because they knew they would win nothing else.
I just don't like how Pac haters bring up the fact that Floyd's PPV numbers beats Pac's against common opponents. Fact is, if Floyd fought Cotto then Clottey right now, those PPV buys would be significantly less than Pac's fights with them. Same thing goes for Pac if he fights Mosley after May 1.
Yes especially when it looks like they didn't even show up.
So you just explained why Floyd/DLH and Floyd/Hatton outdid Pac/DLH and Pac/Hatton in PPV sales.
Floyd/DLH was boring by casual fans' standards. And Hatton? Floyd made him look like a fool. Its a wonder Pac's fights with these 2 even broke a million PPV buys.
Why would anybody after seeing Clottey stink it up for 12 rounds. Clottey is over as a PPV fighter.
So you're saying when someone loses badly on a PPV, they lose some PPV clout?

I don't know... I think Arum is losing his flair that was just a half ass "Event" all around. poorly promoted and a poor undercard. It seems like he wasn't even trying. This shouldn't have been on PPV. The Floyd fight was ppv worthy due to the intrigue of floyd coming back after an 18 month layoff and a pretty good undercard but this was just shotty across the board. Just being honest.
I had UK commentators.
I wanna watch it from HBO because they talk differently and I learn new stuff.
HBO seems to add excitement for me, but it looks like it was very funny.
I'm a Roy Jones fan as a commentator, and Foreman was too.
I Hate Kellerman, I just do.
Lampley was cool for me, but I saw that video and it was funny as hell lol. It was like he was near orgasming and couldn't stop lol.
Steward is cool in my eyes. He stands up for himself and boxing. What did they argue over?
As far as fighters doing commentary Roy Jones was one of my favorites, I mean I have fights on dvd that he commentated and the guy is almost right on with everything he says. I never cared for Big George too much, he was really what we would call a nuthugger on these boards. His love for De La Hoya was just too much for me. Kellerman is annoying but he is basically one of us, a real fan who got to break into the business, we'd all love to be Max right now.
Floyd vs Baldomir would be an equivalent, I dont remember those numbers but look them up
I don't think half of the Floyd fans on this site would by Floyd/Clottey.
Commentary last night was very strange, I think even they were feeling that this event was a letdown, Manny Steward got to arguing with Lamps and Kellerman on the air, and Lampley and the Bang routine was entertaining but very out of place. I think he really was trying anything to enhance excitement.

But the fact is that you still have that sig of Pac taking steroids, that's all emotional bro, nothing else.
The sig is there cause I am too lazy to change it, or maybe I'll just keep it till Pac actually takes the test. Also I happen to prefer this sig over the alternative which is soft porn footage.
He doesn't have to win fighter of the decade, a simple victory over Pac will do.
No, he can really win back the fighter of the decade. I'm not lying to you.
I'd love to see the PPV sales for FLoyd v Clottey... That's what I thought.

When the excuses were rolling and changing everyday it was hard to not react to it.

If the PPV fails, it is because Pacquaio is not nearly as popular as the clowns on this site think he is. If he is the greatest attraction in boxing as his worshippers on this site think, then the show from last night will do 1 million PPV since the "boring" Mayweather did that many against an equally unpopular foe in Marquez.
