I know we should be grateful that we even got the fight but I am just sick of them not showing post fight interviews. Also talking over the cornermen. HBO and Showtime for all their faults urinate on Sky. :bottle::bottle:
It's as if Sky purposely assembled the biggest bunch of cunts available purposely.
Seriously, Sky's coverage last night made me wish that was me in there getting battered by Pacquiao. It can't have been more painful than listening to Jim Watt's commentary.

Nah i enjoyed watching the fight on Sky Sports :439:
I think we should be grateful that we receive the fight for free in the U.K,
But we don't, we have already paid about £45 for a sky subscription with the Sports package, and if you are going to charge for the privaledge at least have the decency to cover the whole event uninterrupted, and perhaps give the people who want the corner work covered (which is fundementally part of the sport) the benefit of the doubt??
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Sky's coverage.
Darke and Watt on commentary are fine by me. I ave no problems with that, at least when they aren't hanging off of a fighters wang with their bias.
The analysis isn't very good. No real detail and Glen McCrory's eyebrows scare the shit out of me.
The pre-fight run-down and details isn't very thorough and doesn't set the fights up as well as they can be.
The adverts between rounds is annoying. Only really good for a 60 second sprint and piss dash.
And no post-fight coverage is the worst of all the annoyances. Why are they hurrying away so soon? Nobody is awake at 5.30am and who wants to watch 3 continuous hours of adverts for the perfect pushups, or whatever.
Yeah, the coverage definitely has room to improve.
I think we should be grateful that we receive the fight for free in the U.K, the Mayweather vs. Mosley bout will also be free in May, so I'm not too bothered about the adverts, I can download the HBO version and watch it again if I want to hear what the corners are saying between rounds.
I agree that Sky showing adverts during a PPV fight is extremely annoying though, it definitely shouldn't be allowed.
I am not sure, cause before Setanta went bust they used to always show the post fight interviews (well if I remember rightly they did). They would cut to Steve Bunce talking and as soon as the interview would start they would cut to what they had to say. I can't remember whether they had breaks inbetween rounds too though.
Yeah that's true, I was just about to say that Sky probably can't use the post fight interviews but yeah Setanta always did, even when it was on HBO in the states because I remember once he went on a rant about how shit Max Kellerman's questions were :)
The English the commentators are superior to the HBO team
Not even close.
I was saying last night how British sports coverage is most of the time presented like an after though, they put no passion into what they are doing because they think we dont care. If Sky or Terrestrial TV do not get huge ridiculous viewing figures then they just dont bother putting any effort in.
Look at the effort these clowns put into rubbish like Xfactor or Dancing on Ice, Sky and the beeb throw millions at rubbish drama reality TV and celeb chasing because in Britain more people care (at least thats the reality they push on us)
Our British coverage is a joke compared to HBO and Showtime and so amateurish its untrue, I mean remember the Cotto v Paq fight when Sky rushed off in a hurry not bothering to show the post fight interviews to show a re run of something like Fulham v Stoke from last year????
yah setanta was great all around cuz setanta had there deals in place with top rank and universum so sky raised there bar and got all the good golden boy cards which made it awesome for us.
Aye, Sky is shite.
At least the fight was free though.
I wish Setanta didn't go bust to be honest, in 2008 it was amazing for Boxing... I had no complaints.
the adverts inbetween rounds as annoying they are i dont mind them cuz its them adverts wat keeps the fight of ppv. and even when we have to pay extra its only £15 which is wat $28 these days so its still less then our american counterparts pay
I was about to say that, to be fair we pay around half the amount they do so that could explain why they get a better PPV.
Horrible commentary, been saying for some time. Its boring really, dont really pump you up as much.
I agree and dissagree... when some action gets going the UK commentary can start hyping it up really well. I dunno I just think HBO have the better PPV overall when it comes to Boxing.

Don't you sometimes find it annoying when the fight finishes and you don't get to see the post fight interviews until the next day though?
no not really, especially when the fight wasnt that good. i was struggling to stay awake!
I completely agree. SKY's boxing coverage is utterly inferior to its US counterparts. Why can't they show post-fight interviews? Seriously. Not to mention the actual punditry is simply diabolical. It's actually frustrating to listen to. Christ....
Is there actually a reason for not showing the post-fight stuff like rights to coverage or something?
