People will know on this site that I don't particularly like him but I have to give him all the credit in the world. He beat a beast last night, the calibre of opponents that he's beating considering he fought at super-featherweight even in 2008, is pretty amazing.
I'll never like him but I do concede he's the best out there at the moment, I don't believe Mayweather would beat him.
Pacquiao deserves credit for beating a top WW.
The win, however, shouldn't come as much of a suprise to anybody and shouldn't be used as any kind of marker for how he will deal with Mayweather or even Mosley.
Clottey always struggles with fighters who have a high output. In the Margarito fight, Clottey was winning the early rounds - but as soon as Marg started to unload on him more frequently, his output dramatically decreased - injured hand or not.
Pacquiao has waayy more speed than Marg, and his output is more relentless.
Come on man, it pained me to see Clottey lose last night but I have to man up. Clottey is a beast, he cannot be hurt but Pacquiao reduced him to throwing even less than he normally does. Who would have thought he could beat a guy like Clottey 2 or 3 years ago.
good call. good post too, why don't you like manny though? is it anything specific?
I will like to know what you personally would have done(gameplan) to beat Pacquiao. A defensive fighter survived a complete flurry of punches cuz all he did was cover up , pac kept throwing just in case he opened up , and throwing and throwing , at a ridiculous pace with ridiculous speed. And Clottey's offense was not good enough to find a way thru. His defense was good enough to stand in there and not get knocked out. I wouldnt say survive cuz he was never hurt at all. He just stood there with no answer for Manny Pacquiaos offense.
We have to be grateful we are witnessing this!!!! this is history , not just for the sport of boxing. Its incredible seeing this. Like max kellerman said , this can be the last time we see something like this.
Now I that I think ot it. And I gotta give Pac all credit , cuz look at the trajectory.
Hatton: They say , ok lets start with this guy , hes active , hes very busy , hes strong , he will pressure many , he will come to fight , and it will be at 140. BOOM , puts him to sleep
De la Hoya: Ok lets see this guy. Hes naturally a ww , past his prime , has a champions mentality , lets see what many can do against a boxer. One of the greates boxers of all time. Completely destroys him at will. And made him quit.
Cotto: Ok , lets step up , and fight a beast , a top ww , that even tho he lost 1 , He should still have enough to compete. What happens , Cotto couldnt handle the angles and gets completely outclassed
Clottey: ok so Floyd doesnt want anything , whos next , Mosley , wait , lets see if this guy who is pretty ****ing HUGE , is strong , and should give me a battle in there can handle me.NO ****ING CHANCE
, now what. I doubt Floyd will want anything to do with this ****ing punching machine. And Mosley , I doubt Mosley , who is a hof already , can use his faded legs , to get away and avoid all the angles and all the speed this guy has to offer.
Pacquiao is a beast , a Beast we should be happy we are witnessing. A beast that prob can win an 8th division title.
Is really sad u cant see that.
Oh, and that's because??? PAC MADE HIM STAND THERE LIKE A PUNCHING BAG! He was completely overwhelmed, had no answers, no idea wtf to do, and was too scared to open up on Pac. You think he does that all his career? Yes, he turtles up, but he normally opens up more than often. He just couldn't against Pac who was RELENTLESS. Start giving credit you flomo because your man is gonna get beat so bad, people are gonna wonder how he was ever P4P material in the first place. :damnit:
my opinion is my opinion, if u dont agree then fine. i didnt say anything negative about pac, i said before that i giv him his props. u pac fans need to calm the fukk down. yall go crazy when ever u THINK someone is disrespecting him. and if u look through my post history u would see that im a pac fan
what beast ?? clottey stood their like a punching bag. i giv pac his respect but clottey didnt do anything for 12 rounds
The destroyer tamed the beast............

I doubt anybody at 147 below stand a chance against pac now. He's just a ****ing beast, crazy stamina, very fast, very strong, very good chin, can punch from a different angle, very good footwork he has it all. Wow scary.....
Why are people trying to make it look like Clottey is a high put fighter?? Unless we have a stats to back it up Clottey doesnt really throw a lot of punches in his fights and yesterday he was even more extra careful.
Yeah many in here will say Pac had it easy because Clottey fought like a punching bag last night. They need to step back, look and realize Pac reduced Clottey down to that low output.
Nail in the coffin

Good post! Green K given.
Pac did what he had to do to win. He didn't sit back and admire his shots. He earned his money. Clottey was just another forgettable name on his resume for the night. That's all.

Clottey cant do anything to Pac but at Least He signed the contract and Fought Pac!! Floyd still cant find where his Cajones is!!!

I agree with this whole post!!!
I don't believe Mayweather would beat him either. Clottey was a rock. I don't know if Mayweather is. FM may duck one or two punches, but with that barrage of blows coming from Pac I can't imagine him surviving like Clottey did.
I just think Mayweather would get outworked to lose on points.

This thread for me is like writing that Manchester United are the best team in the Premiership (maybe not this season) even though I'm an Arsenal fan. It pains me but I gotta do it.
