All credit to Manny he fought a good fight, his combination's where crazy and it was good to see him throwing some nice body shots,
But Clottey landed that straight right hand every time he threw it,
Manny has absolutely no head movement and was extremely easy for Clottey to hit, even up close.......
His defense is extremely weak, He doesn't hold his hands up...
A sharp shooter like Floyd would batter Manny, And maybe knock him out in the late rounds :boxing:
doesn't clottey avg as many punches per round as floyd?
But Floyd doesnt stand there with his hands up and let someone hit him, He moves around the ring and creates chances,
Was almost like Joshua was not interested in the win lastnight

I couldn't agree more.
It will be intriguing but people seem to believe Manny can throw that many punches against Mayweather....not a chance he'd be throwing at air because Floyd won't just stand there unless he tries to get in the pocket and even then Floyd would actually throw shots and slip punches rather than just stand there with his hands up.
It will be interesting to see how Manny adjusts to having his work rate cut down and having to be smarter with his punching, because that is what we will have to see for him to beat Mayweather. It will also be interesting to see if either he or Floyd can put the other on the canvas and how they each react to the sneaky quick punches they each throw.
I feel blessed to have these 2 in my era. It would be amazing if the 2 of them and Mosley could have a 3 way thing with them fighting each other because each of the possible match-ups amongst the three are interesting. Most sensible thing i've read today. No point in cussing pac nor floyd cause we all wanna see the fight. Pac's job done, now floyds turn, then we can have this MEGA fight later on this year. I expect both fighters to bring their A-game. Gonna be brilliant!!!!!

There is no way because Pac won't fight the same style. He knew Clottey was going to be in a shell with his throwing punches. They studied tape...Occasionally Clottey opened up and popped Pac because Pac wasn't expecting him to open up. It's going to happen when your 95% offense...but that's the sacrifice. You can't have 100% defense like Clottey did and expect him to be constantly throwing back...Against Fraud, Pac will be more measured but just as explosive. I honestly can't see Fraud making it 12. He doesn't have anywhere near as good D as Clottey.
We may want to wait until after May 1st before making any assumptions about what Floyd is or isn't capable of. 33, one fight in 2.5 years and first fight against a real welter in a long, long time. I keep hearing about how Mosley is old but Floyd isn't a spring chicken either. Pacquiao, on the other hands, is fighting as good as ever and, amazingly, is even more active than he was in his prime. After May 1st, you may feel differently about how Floyd stacks up against him.

Yeh thats if he gets around to acutally fighting him G..
I believe the fight will never happen...

I totally disagree with that one,I really was thinking yesterday that Pac's head movement has improved since the Marquez fight.
Clottey landed "everytime",because he was throwing everytime he could, everytime Manny did a mistake.
So it means Manny was doing very few mistakes. It's how I see that shit.
Watch the other face of the issue.
When I watch Floyd vs a southpaw, like JUdah.
I'm like WTF,Floyd is really beatable for Manny.
Manny ain't no judah, ask Clottey and Cotto.
People are still critisizing Manny's habilities.
But ****.Manny won it 120-108 in my opinion.
Clottey won at best one round.
Same shit for Cotto who won two rounds.
He outboxed them,EASY.
Manny is way more elusive than before, watch again, the Hatton,Cotto,Oscar,Clottey fights and tell me the guy is easy to hit.
Manny ain't no Pavlik.
Now of course a master of counter punching and defense like Floyd will give Manny way more troubles.
But Manny athleticism, quickness, southpaw stance and high workrate give troubles to Floyd as well.
Any person who thinks Floyd is goin to counter the shit out of Manny like he did to Hatton or Gatti is underrating Manny habilities.
I see Manny making a competitive fight and maybe beating Floyd.
Dude
Your bugging. Simply styles make fights. Clottey is a defensive counter puncher and was in a shell all night in order for Pacquiao to land a shot he had to try and bait Clottey to counter the counter puncher. Thats why you saw him standing so close to Clottey at times and secondly the power that Pacquiao has that cant be quantified on television but look Clottey beat Zab Judah ass gave Margarito all he could handle with two broken hands in that fight. He fought a good fight againsnt Baldimor and he almost beat Cotto had Miguel running all over the ring and walked through Cotto most of the fight. Why didnt Clottey walk through Pacquiao because he found out what the rest of the welterweights are finding out this guy is blazing fast and he can PUNCH case closed. Mosley couldnt stand up to Cotto's power Pac desrtoyed Miguel. Pac would make Shane look old and I believe Pac knocks Shane even faster than he took out Oscar. As for Mayweather I dont see the fight happening I really believe Floyd is scared to fight this kid. Mayweather will not fight Pacquiao not after the way Manny is taking them all out. Straight right whatever Manny can take the punches and dish out the hurt. If the Mayweather Pacquiao fight is ever made you wont see the same guy who fought clottey the game plan changes and this one for Manny Pacquiao for the first time will be personal. Ouch Manny is gonna hurt that Mayweather
Clottey is really good at that straight right hand and was taking 30 seconds of punishment to find an opening for that right hand, and he would not sit in front of Mayweather like he did Clottey.
Manny has shown plenty of head movement in previous fights, completely ridiculous to say he has no head movement.
I cannot believe there are people who think Floyd has an easy time with Pac after watching that fight. Clottey makes everyone he fights look awkward, and Pac completely shut him out.excellent post. Even if Floyd has success with the straight right, and I know he will land that shot versus Manny...... what's he gonna do after? Because we know Floyd doesn't really throw combos these days... Manny will knock his gloves together, prompting a roar from the crowd, and move forward landing 5 and 7 punch combos, including bodyshots, while Floyd tucks up
People are really underestimating Pac's improved counter punching in a potential matchup against Floyd. He has learned how to use the opportunities when his opponents open up on offense to throw those deadly combinations. That's why Floyd would have to throw his own combinations when Manny misses, because if he thinks he can throw a shot and dance away Manny will outwork, outland, and beat him.
have you ever stopped to think about manny's offense? you know, instead of just thinkin about floyd on the offensive
also i doubt may is as durable as clottey, those body shots were fearsome
Maybe I’m in the minority in stating this but I really think the exact opposite. Floyd could not beat Pac pop shotting on the outside one punch at a time. Pac’s work rate alone would be enough to make an impression on the judges even if the punches were blocked by Floyd.
Regarding punches landed on Pac from Clottey they still were few and far in between. For all we know Pac may have just wanted Clottey to get out of his turtles hell defense only to counter with more combinations, and I think that strategy worked because I have never seen Joshua eat that much leather.
Hey just my two cents.
pac knew nothing was coming his way so he took more chances. Only difference I see in this fight & a fight with may is pac will have to chase. But we won't have to worry bout that b/c we will be talking bout ssm/pac come may 2
