First off, props to Manny. The man is a machine.
Now, Clottey's style (the style I thought would be something that could give Manny problems) was what I banked on for Clottey to win this fight. It proved to be his downfall (like many posters told me, and I know, but I thought Clottey was goona have more than a defense to bring to the table)...
Manny wouldn't let Clottey open up at all. I was Impressed! There were some shots in that fight where Clottey blocked the punch, but it moved him across the ring....Manny has power! For real!
The uppercut was there for Clottey all night...I wish he would have started to push on the gas around round 4 and not round 12...
Overall..
I'm not mad at Clottey though. Clotteys style has given many problems in the past, but I don't think even Clottey knew Pac was going to pretty much average 90 punches a round (like 70 were powershots...)...Like I said, a machine.
The event turned out to be worth it though. A good night for Pac, and for boxing.
P.S. I'm not going to be to hard on Clottey for the loss. Against Cotto, he could counter and lead after blocking 3 or 4 shots. Against Margo, he could counter between the slower punches of Margo (even though they never stopped coming). Against Pac, he never had a chance to conuter or open up. Pac threw hard, fast, punches from every angle, and never stopped. Wasn't much Clottey could do. He fought his fight, but it was his downfalls.
Look forward to seeing them both fight again.
Lastly-
Pac proved once a again why he is P4P king, by dominating a fighter that had never been dominated before. Good show Pac.:boxing:
I agree with everything said in this thread up until now. Its one thing saying Clottey should have been busier, but its another thing actually doing it. People are acting like its so easy to set a game plan and do it inside the ring which is not true, especially against the likes of Pacquiao.
I have not lost an ounce of respect for Clottey, hes a true warrior and tried his best. Fuk the haters, your the one whos made it big, but we see these fat pieces of shyt act like they've been in the ring and know everything there is to know. Clottey still an elite fighter in my eyes, only he was beaten by a better fighter.
What was that all about?

Good post, I saw it the same way. A lot of people on the forum are acting like Clottey was terrible; I mean, I know he didn't really GO FOR IT at any point, he had a few brief moments where he landed the uppercut and hook, straight right, but Manny was simply too busy, too quick and let a lot of power shots fly to keep Clottey in his shell.
That pretty much sums it up.
Pretty much. Pac was very deliberate, and never gave Clottey those chances. Clottey just tried to weather the storm, and his style worked against him.
Clottey was never hurt, or even tired it seemed. He just couldn't find any windows. The ones he did find, cloesd fast. Pac-Man is becoming a problem for any fighter out there.
