Although in this fight pacquaio was able to land enough shots and have good enough stamina for it not to matter, you cant help but notice he wastes a lot of punches, surely against a highly skilled counter puncher this d lead to him gettin exhausted .. is this something mayweather would capitalise on ? would mayweathers shots be powerful enough to slow pac down? also he was vulnerable to uppercuts on the inside , especially in the 11th round... whats everyones thoughts on the fight?
After seeing this fight, I'd expect PB to retire from boxing. Mayweather would never let himself thrown into a Pacman's den. He will be devoured in an instant.
Against a stationary Clottey who didn't want to fight, the punches were not wasted. It got him ahead on the cards easily and there was no risk for him to throw that many as Clottey clearly didn't want to fight.
However, you are correct, Pacman wont be able to come close throwing that many punches against the best counter puncher in the game. Mayweather will be countering all night along and making Pacman miss. I believe that missed punches takes more out of you than a blocked punch. A missed punch affects you mentally as well, you start to think twice before throwing.
so floyd has nothing to worry about in fighting Manny.

He threw those punches because Clottey was letting him. If Pac can throw 1200 punches at will he does so.
Really the only flaw Pac showed last night was being open to the right hand. Other than that he showed fantastic body punching and a great ability to pick his spots for those big combinations.
No one has ever dominated Clottey like that, that fact alone should impress anyone who isn't looking for a reason to hate on Pacquiao.
Throw a 1000 punches and some will get wasted. He's an awesome athelete. I find it hard to fault him when the othe guy (despite huge size advantage) simply refuses to fight.
You could only waste punches if you dont have the stamina or energy to go the full 12 rounds, Pac has the energy so he can throw has many punches as he likes especially if an opponents who isnt throwing back at you.

Waste a lot of punches? How was it wasted? Besides. Manny threw 1,231 punches and was still raring to go even at the end of the 12th round.
Waiting for Manny to get tired is obviously an effort of futility.

There's nothing I can fault about last night's performance. I'm sure you're making shit up. "Wastes a lot of punches"?
FFS.
Go watch a Haye fight or something.
