Pacquiao fan here, but from what I saw tonight, Floyd would beat Pacquiao.

He would emulate Clottey's offense, but actually use his legs and move instead on standing there and blocking shots. The bigger difference is that Floyd would actually fight back and connect more with Manny. But Manny would connect as well because he is fast and quick enough to do so and Floyd would leave himself open everytime he goes on the offensive, so at the end i think Manny's power should and would get the job done against Floyd. But at the same token, Floyd could do the same thing as well. That's why i think right now, it's a 50/50 for both and that's why this fight must happen. Power vs Speed or Offense vs Defense, either one can take it.

Well Pacquiao has looked better against common opponents (minus marquez since he had no business at 147), but its a style matchup. Floyds style will give Pacquiao fits, I wish he would work on his defense, but Pacquiao is very easy to hit. Mayweather NEVER dominated the welterweight division like Pacquiao has done. Pacquiao has fought better opposition in the division and has done better. He's shown he can take any welterweights punch, that he can carry his speed & power and that he can fight with both offensive and defensive fighters. If anyone is favored to win the Mayweather fight it's Pacquiao.. not by a lot, but still favored.

I agree with you Bully. I love Pacquiao and I love what he does for this sport but I can't see how he beats Floyd Mayweather. Aside from anything else it is just possibly the worst possible style match-up for him.

Lampley said that 55 punches/rd is the welterweight avg, Manny threw more than twice that per round. When have Floyd fought someone like that? Also, Manny did not stand still also, Clottey was chasing him the entire fight (kinda weird to see, but Clottey chased Pac).

With all due respects to you and the origin of the same sentiments being expressed. How many years now have you been waiting for Pacquiao to show his "weakness"? Meanwhile, he has conquered just about every major fighter there except for Mayweather and Mosley. Did you harbor these thoughts since he has been winning bigtime? Because if you do, that meant you are dismissing what he has been accomplishing all these while. Over time, no athlete can maintain his quickness, speed, strength and all the attributes for so long....that is a natural inclination. But meanwhile a bigger or more "noble" question should be: • what did that pugilist accomplish and what can others learn in the meantime? If you ever ask that, I bet you...you would be astounded to what Pacquiao has accomplished due to his attributes, skills and phenomenal career thus far.
