The only chance Floyd has is counter punching and potshots and we saw today that it doesn't phase or slowdown Manny one bit. Yeah Mayweather looks for spots to work inbetween your punches, Roach himself said how Clottey has a very passive defence and how he lacks the transition from defence to offence, Mayweather might the best since James Toney at turning defence to offence, that said i reckon it would be suicide for him to lay on the ropes, Castillo got the best of Floyd on the ropes imo. let's be serious... if you don't throw punches you can't score. that's why guys with crazy stamina, workrate, conditioning, and volume punching will beat floyd... these guys are: pwill, martinez, pac, timothy bradley (possibly) yes you can, there are 4 criterias of scoring a pro boxing match. defense and ring generalship are two, neighter has anything to do with throwing punches yet they are half of what counts when scoring a fight. in short, yes you can most certainly score without throwing punches. speed, timing and boxing IQ beats floyd, what else you want to throw in there is fine but if you dont have those 3 things you cant beat him. volume punching alone doesnt beat him. pwill and pac cant handle lateral movement and angles, floyd would put that on em and not allow them to get of in numbers. against pac he has the height and reach too, so he can keep him at range aswell. i would give tim bradley a good chance at beating floyd, martinez a decent one and pwill and pac would make for live underdogs but not much more.

Floyd will be afraid of getting hit and will be blinded by the speed and aggression. Pac will bust him up on the ropes. Watch Floyd's fights. He gets hit by combinations not single shots or 1-2's. I don't think Floyd can really hurt Manny. Manny's been hit by much tougher and harder punchers than Floyd. All Floyd can really do is potshot and try to counter, but just like tonight, Pac will take it and throw 5-6 more punches.

i think a good fight to look at is the hatton mayweather fight, hatton threw less punches than money in this fight because even though he usually has a high output mayweather nulified his work and besides pac is open to all mayweathers fave shots, the counter right, the lead right, the inside uppercut, the jab to the body, the left hook.... ive seen pac get hit with these shots too often i cant see him being intelligant enuf to beat may, pac does the same routines over and over again with his movement. hatton though does not possess the hand speed, footwork, combo punches of manny.

Floyd is the master of defensive counter attacking. Don't think Clottey's tactics in any way resemble what Mayweather would do.

Williams knocked out Quintana in their first fight? Mosley knocked out Margarito, but Margarito's output was much less than what people were used to seeing. It wouldn't have been more than 600 after 12 rounds, which is 400 less than usual. When you're getting hit clean, those numbers will go down. williams still KTFO quintana... mosley throws a lot more punches than floyd and he hits a lot harder...
