I also thought Dzinziruk received a gift decision in that fight. Konecny is the best fighter most people have never heard of, too bad he's never had a good promoter. I wouldn't say best fighter no one heard of, but a pretty tough dude who is fun to watch. Yeah his promtional situation has sucked. It's like working with Don King and being named Devon Alexander. See how fast that dude blew up and got on TV as soon as he got away from King? Same will happen to Dzinziruk

The reason why HBO wouldn't buy Williams/Dzinziruk is because they bought Williams/Phillips. And while it wasn't a bad scrap, it did horrible numbers. Williams can't carry a card. He was matched properly coming up (kudos to match-making), but he wasn't promoted correctly. No fanbase has absolutely killed this guy in negoiations. Paul and Sergei wanted to fight. But it would've been a bad business decision for HBO and they didn't want to lose money yet again due to Williams. His name recognition has grown because he's been linked to other fighters. As for Sergei, he hasn't fought in a while and he won't be tossed in tough because they want to build somewhat of a fansbase with his first 2 fights before they put him into a situation where losing is a possibility. Thus making some money off of him before cashing out. Williams would overwhelm him. Hell I thought Konecny won and that isn't bias, it's more shock. We'll see Dzinziruk before the year is out in a big(ish) fight and we'll be glad too. For now, let him build up a following and shake some rust.

Why is he a jerk? He is not a jerk but he is a dumbass. He will buy Williams-Phillips but not buy Williams-Dzinziruk? It makes no sense.

Thank you for acknowledging the fact that both Williams and Sergei wanted each other but P-Will just got a better opportunity when the Pavlik fight seemed in reach. His career hasn't gone anywhere in years. Even having a fight is a positive at this point although the opponent is mediocre at best. To Dzinziruk's credit he does want to fight the best but the politics of boxing are not allowing him to do that. I'd blame his promoters, not the man.

He dumped Universum because they didn't get him Williams. I see his American promoter isn't doing much better. And Shaw has been matching Timothy Bradley and Chad Dawson tough. Why is this guy an exception?
