Who do you think is the greater fighter and why?

Everybody have their own opinions and both sides have their good points. However let's just leave the final decisions to the proper boxing authorities to rate the ATGs accordingly.
I think the whole fight more times back then is a bit of a misnoma. Boxers just fought more back then and thats that. And fighters dont fight as much now because of safety regulations or what not.
But Pac could fight the kind of opponents Pep fought to build his resume up, and had 100 wins as well. Pac could beat fighters a little lower level than Cotto, and Hatton until the cows come home.
I think to dismiss the fighters Pac beat, the best of todays is doing a disservice to the level of boxers today. The pep back then wouldnt beat todays Pac. Any version of todays Pac at 126 or higher.
I have Willie #6 P4P all time behind SRR, Ali,Armstrong, Louis, and Greb. Currently i have Pac #23 on my all time list. Its hard to compare fighters if different eras but the fighters back than just fought very often and for a guy to fight as often as pep and have such a great record 229-11 and he also influence the defensive art possibly as much as any boxer; unless you go back to the bareknuckle days and guys like Daniel Mendoza and what he did 200 years ago.
Look at my avi no Floyd pic at all. And, IMO Pac is not top 20. I have Pac in the top 30 though. And, IMO Pep is top 5. And, TBH some people disagree but I have Pep ahead of Ali... I got Ali at #6... But, that is my opinion...
A very good opinion.
You must have Greb in your top 5 right. Ali IMO defined the term greatness. He had a special run in and out the ring. I think the impact he left on boxing to go along with the in rig stuff seals him as a Lock for Top 3 let alone Top 5 IMO. But everybodys list is different.
I do have Greb in my top 5, I have him in my top 3 with Armstrong and SRR. then I have Benny Leonard and Pep rounding of the top 5. With Ali at 6 and Langford at 7. But, there is always a case for having Ali in the top 3 or #1 spot.

Believe me, i have heard it many times. Some people disagree though, and are entitled to their opinion.
In whos opinion is Pac not in the top 20 ATG list?
In your opinion hes not. I would think you might have more credibiltiy if you got rid of your floyd pic.

Two things:
Top 5 lists usually have Pep, Ali, SRR, Louis and Armstong in no particular order. Then you ask 'if he was so great why isnt he ranked higher then them"? Hes no less then 5. Hes still great.
Where did you get that Pac is up there with SRR and Ali from?

Sorry to burst your bubble but Pac is not in the top 5 10 15 or even top 20 P4P all-time greats.
.
I have a ton of respect for Manny but he's just not on that level.

Can't compare old skool fighters with todays. Its just too different. They fought more often with less weight classes. No bullshit involved, you fight the best guy and you become the best. I'm dating myself but I miss those days.
If Willie Pep is so great, which he was. Why isnt he p4 p higher than SRR, or even Ali?
Pac is up there with SRR and Ali. So yes, Pac to beat Pep. Of course im not discounting the possibilty Pep could beat Pac on any given day as well. But thats just me be respectful to Willie, and Pep deserves respect if nothing else.

Pep is top 10 in almost all respected P4P lists.

pac's brute force, physicality, speed will beat pep's quickness, guile, & defensive style. pac will be the aggressor & force pep to do more backing up than scoring. pac will walk through pep's punches & his hand & foot speed will push through vs pep.
At 126 Pac will have a hard time landing on Pep. When Pac throws the left he will be countered quickly. Remembering that at 126 he had one hand. Against brawlers like Morales and Barrera he could get away with that, not against a slick defensive minded boxer. Pep's timing could win the fight alone. He was arguably the best at it. He also threw alot of punches and he had good power. He has more knock outs then Pac had fights. Pac aint walking through his punches.
Pep would also be moving alot side to side to catch Pac reaching and lunging in. Then boom counter shot and he wont be there anymore. Pac has fast hands but again at 126 he wasnt a two handed fighter. Pep had the defensive skills to take away his opponents best punch. I cant see Pac beating him or being competitive with him at 126. Its really a mismatch and thats not a knock to Pac its more of a testament to just how good he was.
so where is JCC junior in your list?
after FMJ?
What does this mean though? You cool and all but triangles theories dont mean anything.
We talking about a guy who was once 61-0.
Pep is one of the slickest fighters ever and one of the best defensive fighters ever? How does Pac beat him?
Pac beats Pep at Featherweight?
Pac isnt anywhere near Pep in skills or status.
Pep was incredibly active and threw punches constantly. His stamina was just as good as Pac yet he did 15 rounds his whole career.
It wasnt JMM's power or size that gave Pac trouble. It was that he knew when to throw punches and was a smart counter puncher.
Pep was one of the best ever at timing, unpredictability and movement.
He never 'hid' from opponents.
He has no idea who Pep is.
JMM got Power and Bigger than Pep. Pep Cant Hide for 15 rds. Pac has endless stamina will catch pep after 4 rds.

All heard was gurgle gurgle.
You gotta take them out dude.
If you can't take the heat get the F$%k out the kitchen.
I was debating.
You got caught up on a couple words.
If they felt it was unnecessarily they where free to respond. posters around here can speak for themselves including your Pac brethren.
So stop trying to be there big brother and stick to the thread topic.
That's what I'm saying you need to practice what you preach. Don't get hurt on somebody's opinion. Try to man up and just admit you don't know jack shit about boxing.
You don't deserve a green rep, let me change that for you.
Thanks and learn boxing before posting here at BSC.
