Per Dan Rafael's blog. Solid undercard bout, hopefully they put a few other good fights on the undercard.
And about time Anthony Peterson gets a decent fight...or a fight at all.
This is a quasi slap to Diaz' face, but I do expect Soto to defeat him as well. Valero is dropping his strap? Could be a mistake.
technically valero isnt dropping his belt.
he was named "champ in recess" due to the massive cut he suffered in his fight. he's also flirting with moving up to 140 since he's reportedly having trouble making 135.
if he comes back to 135 in the near term, he'll still be the WBC beltholder.
Is this on hbo or what?
peterson vs winner of soto/diaz will be on the undercard of cotto/foreman, which'll be on regular HBO.
juanma's on the undercard as well. depending on juanma's opponent (possibly bernabe concepcion) the peterson v soto/diaz fight should be the co-feature.
hopefully they'll televise all 3, but when was the last time they did that?
anthony peterson is a problem at 135.
Co sign on that Peterson vs Soto is even money, lets keep in mind that peterson has youth speed, and foot work, we remember how guzman out boxed soto , peterson can do that much better with less running
Finally we can get rid of Soto for once and for all. The dude is pretty much Steven Lueveno at a higher weight class. Always on PPVs, always fighting bums. Lets hope Peterson puts an assbeating on him.
The fact that you compared Soto to Luevano destroys your credibility. I don't like the way Arum has been matching him here lately either, but the dude brings it and comes to fight.

except that soto is good and has entertaining fights. he was just in a sht division. i expect better matchups now that hes at lightweight.
So finally Soto is gonna step up? It's about time. Arum was sheltering him almost as bad as he is Donaire and Lopez right now after the Guzman fight. I don't have any bad feelings towards the guy because I guess he has to fight whoever Arum puts in front of him. So does Juan Ma Lopez, but the difference is he goes on record acting like some big shot.
As for who I think will win the fight with Soto and Petersen, I think Soto will take it.
tss what?? guzman already beat him once he can beat him agian.. thier isnt even a point in making that rematch cuz it was so deccisive the first time.. funeka can beat soto..valero would give him a fight and even diaz coming up if he boxes a lil he would win cuz im sure he can take sotos punch
Lulz...that's all I gotta say about that
I don't see anyone beating Soto at 135.

i never said he fought jmm. im just listing the top contenders at LW. do you think soto beats JMM?
i agree about the guzman fight, but if guzman gets back in shape, he'll pose the same exact matchup problems vs soto.
I'm sorry about that, I didn't realize that's what you were trying to say.
I like JMM but I think his best days are behind him so at this point I see Soto wining. About Guzman, well he's been so innactive that I don't think he's got the same desire to fight right now, so I see Soto beating him this time.
He's never fought JMM so I don't know what you are talking about, Guzman beat him because he ran all night and never stood and traded like he did against Funeka, and that was at 130 lbs. Funeka and Valero would be entertaining, I give Funeka a better chance at beating Soto than Valero honestly and I have newfound respect for Valero now.
