Margarito had gloves filled (probably) with plaster - and he didn't faze Clottey. I wouldn't be "surprised" if Pac KO'd him - I could believe a late TKO from a relentless attack, but I don't think Clottey would be hurt. He's proven his chin countless times - it's his heart and his attention span that are always in question.
TheRef
You must rate Manny's punching power very highly then.
I have been saying since DLH that Manny's power is under rated. Clottey is wise not to buy into the smaller man bit like the others. Clottey knows whats up.
I would be very surprised if Clottey gets KO'd. He has a granite chin and a textbook defense that makes him very hard to hit clean. I think people who are downplaying the challenge Clottey poses are either; haters trying to belittle PacMan's competition so if he wins they say it was a bad win or haven't watched Clottey fight because there is a reason he is one of the most avoided fighters in the game today.
I can see PacMan winning on a stoppage in the later rounds because Clottey's work rate drops and he is to content to just block leading to the ref calling a stoppage.
Shocked? Really? After the power pac has shown in the cotto fight, I wouldn't be. Maybe a lil surprised but not shoked.
I wouldn't be that surprised if clottey put PAC down later on, if you look. At the 5 th wit cotto n pac , PAC got seriuosly wobbled .
This fight will be who wears Dow. Who first.
Christ, man. Are they really making Clottey a stepping-stone already??
Pac is going to win. Everything is pointing to a Pac victory.
Pac/Floyd has to happen.
Well when Clottey-Quintana got scratch due to Pavlik pulling out.
It was when the talks of Mike Jones started happening. They both were suppose to take tune ups and then fight each other in the spring/summer. However, when the Mayweather-Pacquiao talks fell apart. And, Clottey became an option the Mike Jones was realistic anymore.
When was that said?
Thank you.
Pac loses we dont get Pac-Floyd. Which is what I want to see. I win both ways. He loses his fans dont post on here anymore he wins we get Pac-Floyd. So when I said that I was referring to his fanboys dissapearing.
Well the first link I posted you said it two weeks ago.
And, the second link I posted you said that last week.
Just, be real. You're saying the stuff you saying right now just so you won't have to give Pac no credit.
trying to get a feel for exactly what Roach's strategy is and I am reading mixed signals(imagine that!).
Roach has recently said(probabably to sell the fight) Manny will be the first to KO CLottey. Well that means that he will have to sit down on his punches, stay in the pocket at times which will probably lead to exchanges.
Does anyone see him doin this?
It was how he fought Cotto but Cotto's D allowed him to do it. I have yet to see any opponents outside of Cotto's KD Jab be able to land flush on Clottey. Pac will be one of the smallest, but quickest guys Clottey has faced so isn't it hard to imagine him landing these significant power punches to clottey?
The other strategy I hear Roach talkin about is gettin in and out in angles. You know boxing him. Thats basically what he did to DLH but again DLH did not have the same defense plus he looked like overcooked bacon that night.
This is how I see this fight goin down a lot of movement from Pac and Clottey chasing him. I have a feeling this will be a dissapointing fight as far as action goes out of Manny with Clottey just not having the offensive abilities to put enough damage on pacman.
Hope I am wrong and pac tries to stay in the pocket, which is a possibility since he is uber confident from his recent wins. If he does just that it could be magnificient or a serious error if Clottey proves to be able to land that sneaky lead right, block the majority of Manny's shots and walk through the others.
Clottey was also supposed to fight Shane on December 1st last year, that would've been on the Pavlik-Williams undercard.....man that would've been a great night of boxing....smh @ Pav
Really Burner you want Pac to win?

I feel you contradicting yourself right now...
In one post you said you hope Clottey leaves Pac in a bloody mess and War Clottey.
In the other post you said Pac wins, but you hope Clottey wins...
But, now you saying you want Pac to win? Sure Burner I believe you...
When was that said?

One problem,
I want him to win. I also presented god points on why there will be a stoppage.

Between me and you I think people are saying that so that if/when it happens they can hype it up even more.
Why?? Clottey is a good name and a solid WW but he just cannot cut it with the big boys period, He isnt facing a Cotto who has recovered from the Margarito beating, He would be facing Pac.. I just saw the road to dallas clips and even Clottey was treated like he was just an ordinary opponent that some of us classed him as, So why would anyone over hype a clottey win?
I may be wrong but wasn't there talks of a Clottey/Quintana fight at 154?
That is true, when they were suppose to fight on Dec 5 on the undercard of Pavlik-Williams. It was at 154...
Between you and me, I think people are saying this is an easy fight for Pac and that Pac will stop Clottey just to not give Pac any credit.
See is a win win for the haters. Pac stops Clottey, destroys him, puts him to sleep. Then Pac gets no credit because he fought a fighter who not that good and tailor made for Pac. However, if Pac does not stop Clottey, struggles with Clottey, has an ugly fight against Clottey, or goes life and death with Clottey. Then that means Pac is so overrated...
So either way is a win win situations for the haters.... But, shhhhhhh that is between you and me...
One problem,

Something off note:
Margarito arguably was loaded with Plaster and hit Clotey with everything but the kitchen sink and didnt stop him.
I'll leave it at that.
There was NO speed to anything Margarito throws, You basically can see his punches way before they get to you.
