is this you?... Paranoid to hell. I think he was screaming "Pacs on PEDs"
the guy was on what he thinks is a-side-meth, he wanted to light a cigarette at the gas station and blow it up and see if it works
No it didn't. Clottey didn't admit that he made the mistake of letting Cotto throw punches at the end of that fight. He will always have the mentality of a guy stuck in second gear and nothing will change that.
I'm sure Pacquiao will be motivated. He has no choice if he wants to make this a fight. If I was him I would not be thinking about a future biggest payday with Mayweather because he already blew his chance with that. As far as his country is concerned he knows they will support him whether he wins or loses so that doesn't factor in.
Pacquiao has everything you have listed and I'm glad that u made a list because the one thing that is not on your list is defense. And this is where Clottey will make him pay. Pac throws a lot of punches and that's why a counterpuncher is his worst nightmare. He gets caught in exchanges because he throws caution to the wind when he punches. Clottey will take full advantage of this and make him pay. Pac will get dropped in this fight. It will be more because of him being off balanced when he throws his punches. He pulls his leg off the ground and lunges forward on one leg. A quick counter will put him on his pants.
A lot of fans will be surprised at what Clottey will be able to do. He is going to impose his will on Manny. Manny will not want to trade with him. He will not get caught in the pocket. Freddie Roach even said that Manny needs to stay out the pocket. The key punch for this fight will be the uppercut of Clottey's. Freddie Roach is already worried about it because it comes straight up the middle-textbook.
My question is this...If Manny has all the advantages over Clottey and will present all sorts of problems for him then when Clottey wins then what does that make Manny?
Clottey is a good counter puncher, but not on the skill level of a JMM. He also is far from active enough to be an effective counter puncher against Manny. He will need to double is usual activity in this fight and exhange with Pac at some point.
You don't think Pacquiao will be equally as motivated? The guy will miss out on the biggest pay day of his career against Mayweather should he lose, he will feel as though he's let down his country, a fact made worse with his political elections coming up, he is expected to win and so will be feeling the pressure.
On top of that, Pacquiao has the speed, the movement and the power to prove all sorts of problems for a type of fighter in Clottey who Pac will always look good against.
Tell me, what can Clottey do to bust up Manny, besides headbutting him?

Also. Anyone who knows pacman knows he's not much of an inside fighter at all. His best punches always are at the full extent of his arms length. Clottey though, throws quick sharp punches from the inside. In short, clottey is actually a better inside fighter than pac.. who prefers to bounce in and out.
This is most likely wise clottey says he wants to crowd manny, and bring the fight to him. He most likely will want to stay as close to manny as possible to neutralize his power (full extension of his arm) and prevent him from moving in and out so much.
This was a talking point prior to the Hatton fight.
Whilst I definitely agree that Clottey is a much better inside fighter than Pac, Roach will know this and will have adapted a gameplan to avoid those situations.
If Clottey tries to smother and crowd Manny, it will play into Pacquiao's gameplan.
its "headbooting" as Clottey says it.:D hes just a tough ass game guy with more than what he needs to carry this fight or even have an upset.
LOL yea headbooting..
Hey don't get me wrong, Clottey is a tough, solid fighter. He just doesn't do enough - what he does do he does well - but it's not gonna be enough to cause a fighter like Manny much problems.
To me he's a B+ class fighter. He has average punching power, average to slightly above average hand speed, his counter punching is good but not exceptional.
I'm still gonna watch the fight, should be a great event, but I'm not expecting anything other than a Pacquiao KO.
pac used to love to slug it out in the pocket, but roach coached it out of him. clottey has better defense on the inside.
Negative. Pac use to go inside and wail, wildly, so roach broke him out of it. he was never GREAT at it though nor excelled it at. It was just something he loved to do, the man loves a FIGHT.
Clottey though, does his absolute best work inside. Pac doesn't.

Clottey hits hard. He's not a "power" puncher, but he's a hard puncher.
But, i see clottey winning. Out of bias, though. I've been a huge clottey fan for a very long time now.
But from a realistic point of view, i honestly feel like he's the right guy to exploit some of manny's flaws. Manny throws very wide punches. You guys call them "angles". The wide angles come from the punches being wide. I see clottey countering often.
Clotteys biggest problem here isn't mannys speed or his power, but his favorite combinations are usually straight punches down the pop. he flurries 1-2-1-2-1-2 a LOT, and it will always peirce between clotteys gloves. So his shell will actually do him less favors in this fight than usual.
I feel like people underestimate clotteys footwork though. he didn't just block margis punches, he slipped and made space as well. People shit on his foot movement because they fail to realize he actually has "real" ring generalship. Rule number 1 is never give your opponent the ring, and back up enough to avoid getting hit, but never too far to where he can reset or you can't reach him anymore.
Clottey follows these rules. he keeps the majority of the ring behind him (controls the ring) and when he backs up to avoid a punch, it sjust far enough to avoid getting hit, but not too far to where he can't return fire. You guys call this being stationary, real fighters/fight fans know the difference.
Also, people show pac respect because of his power then fail to exploit the small holes in his game. Here's to hoping his power doesn't stun clottey, because if it doesn't, pacman will not have the respect given by his other opponents.
I visualize clotteys jab testing pacman, but hsi straight right landing often. I think he'll sneak it in very well. His uppercut will be mint on saturday as well.
No, my opinion is the same. Clottey will bust up Manny and win in the process. There is nothing that can change my mind. Clottey is going to make the most of this opportunity. Just like my son always tells me..it's first place or no place and I think Clottey is well aware of this. His opportunities will be far and few if he loses this fight and he knows this but if he wins then the sky will be the limit. I just hope they don't steal it from him on the scorecards.

My opinion on the outcome of the fight did change after watching this. Before watching I couldn't see Clottey being stopped, but I see now that, on top of this fight stylistically not favouring Clottey AT ALL, his training camp seems to not be up to standard also.
I have mixed feelings about Clottey in this fight. I'm glad that he's getting this opportunity to fight on the biggest stage, against the P4P #1 fighter in the world. However, the way Bob Arum is using him as a money gaining sacrifice for his and Pacquiao's career, saddens me.
Clottey will be lucky to see past round 8.
Nah, my opinoins still the same.
The people who said they feel sorry for Clottey, why? He's about to make his biggest payday, if he wins his popularity will rise, even if he loses he is getting exposure.
Yeah Clottey is a good dude... I would not take it so bad if Clottey won.
Me either man. Id feel almost like he deserves it. If Manny was to lose id rather it be to Clottey.
clottey is a good dude. So is Manny. Thats drive Clottey has to get it back and that drive Manny has to keep it.....fuk, its gonna be a good fight!
