*Who Really WON?! Cotto or Clottey POLL*

Been a long time since i saw the fight, but at the time I thought Clottey edged Cotto out.

Sorry, but I think Clottey lost the right to complain after taking rounds off when the fight was seemingly close or within his grasp for victory.

Clottey had the fight and till he gave away the final rounds IMO. It's one of those fights where he should have won, but he didnt.

I had Cotto winning 114-113... When it came into crunch time, the champ stepped it up and landed the big shots where Clottey just walked him down but didn't throw anything. He had an opportunity to really go for the gusto with Cotto not being able to see and defend himself properly

poll. what do you all think? i had clottey barely winning the fight...he outlanded cotto The fight was close...could have gone either way. The problem with Clottey was he let up on the gas heading into the final stretch -- Allowing Cotto to get back into the fight -- Cotto out working him just enough in the final 2 rounds to earn him the SD. If it wasn't for the knockdown in the first; the fight could have also easily been called a draw (the fight was only won by a point anyway's). Cotto won this fight because he did what Clottey couldn't do, he dug deep and finished strong; and went into the last 2 rounds ready to do what ever takes to win the fight. Kellerman summoned it up the best, post fight: "Clottey was the better fighter, but Cotto was the better man." Clottey could have, should have won that fight, but because of his inability to close out strong during the final 2 rounds cost him the win. You can't go into the final 2 rounds not fighting an expect to get the decision in fight that was that close.

Clottey's wild ineffective aggression in the last few rounds created openings for Cotto to land some good left hooks. Very even fight - Cotto definitely took the most punishment in those middle rounds. I think I had Cotto by a point though.

out of the 6 people that watched it at mine, 4 had clottey winning and 2 had cotto. i thought it could have gone either way really, and because cotto was a bigger name i think that helped. i thought clottey slowed down far too much towards the end, prob why he didnt get the decision.

im a big cotto fan, the fight was very close but in my honest opinion i thought clottey should won that fight. i was happy cotto won cuz i am a fan but at the same time i felt that clottey was the tru winner of that fight :hail::beerchug::fing02: excellent post!!!!! It was too close to say either fighter REALLY won. I had Cotto by a point because of the knockdown.
