protect devon from what? urangos head looked as if it was going to snap from that uppercut. he barely made it up from the first uppercut and he was down again from a PUNCH, not a push. if you notice when devon hit him with the 2nd punch urango was already falling. urango went to GRAB devon to hold himself up but devon let him fall to the ground. :boxing:
Either you are being willfully ignorant of the point I was making, or you really are that dull. I'll pretend its the latter.
If the fight is not stopped, Alexander takes 4 more rounds of ring wear with Urango, and is exposed to the risk of being caught with something big and dropped or stopped himself.
That is why young fighters are given quick stoppages that they don't deserve. Its investing in the future. Keep them younger longer, and avoid any upsets that will hurt their drawing power. Its boxing politics at its purest.
Exactly how much did you lose betting on Urango, Shawn?
I didn't. Urango is crap, we know this. He is the fighter you are suppose to beat. Strong, tough, no defense, or boxing ability. Just a tough guy who will take you into deep water.
Go rewatch this next week. Nothing Impressive about what Alexander did.
Is he quick? Yes, incredibly quick. Can he punch? No, not even a little bit. Look at every punch he landed in the fight before the KD punch. Nothing that even looked hard, yet alone made Urango flinch.
Can he box? Yes, he is an outstanding boxer, perhaps not on the level of Tim Bradley, but he has an outstanding amateur pedigiree.
The problems. If you can't punch, your defense needs to be extraordinary. His isn't. The effects were starting to show before the stoppage. He was getting hit more and more, and against a better fighter, this will result in him getting broken down and then stopped.
He doesn't have the power to keep people off him, and he doesn't have the defense to hit and not get hit consistently.
Its a shame, because he does have the frame to be a puncher, which is why every once in a while he accidentally throws a punch with some pop, but he can't repeat this feat on command.
He needs a new trainer, someone to teach him to sit down on his shots, because he currently fights like an amateur, which in itself is impressive, that he has managed to carry that style to this level.
Unfortunately, I have failed to see any growth in him as a fighter over his last few fights, he continues to play pitty-pat, his defense is the same, and if he doesn't change, he will run into someone who will beat him down.
Man, that uppercut that hit Urango was something nasty. I think Bradley could be on the opposite end of that punch. I don't think Alexander is invincible. But I don't see how a guy like Bradley is gonna beat him when he doesn't have the power to hurt him.
And I don't know why people are complaining about that stoppage. Hell, Alexander barely grazed Urango's jaw on the second knockdown and Urango still collapsed to the canvass. That should tell anyone that he was done as done could be.
Please show me the push. Well it was more like Urango collapsing after taking a short right hook.
If you can't see Alexander wrap both hands around him and throw him down, thats your problem. Its clear as day. That was not a right hook by and stretch of the imagination, it was a jab, and not a particularly good one at that.
The bottom line is this. Urango has demonstrated impressive recuperative abilities in the past, the second "knockdown" was not a knockdown, and the fight was called off early.
Not thats its any unique circumstance. Usually all up and coming talent ever has to do is score 1 KD to get the fight stopped in their favor. Its part of boxing, always has been, always will be.
Stop it early to protect the young blood, and boost their image.
impressive win by alexander, he's almost a complete package although he's timing is still a bit off. he only had around 30% of his total punches landed against a guy who comes at you and is very hittable. what i like about him is he's a risk taker and does not entirely rely on his boxing skills to beat his opponents which is a good thing. we need fighters who take risks to give us entertaining fights not some other fighters who pride themselves of their skills but who always come out in a boring fight.
i tried to tell fools that ALEXANDER AND TIM ARE THE VERY BEST IN THIS DIVISION. valaro is a HYPE job khan is a hype job. ortiz is a hype job. MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FOR THE REAL TALENT IN THE DIVISION
I want to see Valero fight Tim and the winner fighting Ortiz or Alexander.
ok then i think we're done here. you think i could get some of that shit your smoking? gotta be that gourmet shit.
i eat, drink, and shit boxing. maybe you should try it, then you'd know what you're talking about.
huh, I think you were watching the wrong fight cause urango didn't win one round.

well, urango never got a chance to set his feet.

Urango sucks but good performance by Alexander...
Too early man. Let Alexander build up some professional experience first. 300-10 in the am's is just that. Considering he's been boxing since he was 7, a lot of those were kiddy j.o. fights. Plus am's and pro's are worlds apart. Facts are, not much seasoning in his pro stock. I'm with you on him getting at Bradley, but not right now. Bradley is really sharp and had some serious experience and success lately. Tonight was Devon's 20 fight.
Let Alexander get a few more fights and make the move. At least 5 more fights, minimum. I saw a lot of mistakes tonight. Urango was finding him a lot more than the panel would lead us to believe. Lederman's crecard was like, come on man.
valero didn't even wanna fight prescott and turned that fight down. the poor guy bradley was BEGGING valero for a fight and valero responds saying he wants juan diaz LOL get real. valero is a HYPE job and will lose when he steps in there with a solid chin "boxer" who care less about taking his power. i just get tired of guys like devon and bradley being over shadowed by guys with less talent. thats all.
by the way. devon will go on to fight zab and then bradley if things go well.
bro you do know valero has no say so who he fights. the only person on his list he been begging to fight is manny. other than that bob arum is in charge of who valero fights. you think fighters come together and say hey i want to fight you hey i want to fight you too lets fight ding ding lol it doesnt work that way. valero is in no controll over his career nore does he have a visa for US and had no us exposure except his last fight. im pretty sure if they sign valero up with whoever he would fight them no problem. but its not up to him who he fights. he onlysigned with top rank because he felt thats the only way hed get to manny.
2nd valero is a 2 division champion 100% ko ration his visa problems is the only reaosn why he hasnt fought bigger names but he is legit until proven wrong
asy figth for devon to be honest. WOuldnt mind seeing Judah vs Alexander, two speedsters, very entertaining.
it'd be a good fight, imho. very dangerous...
Great KO win by alexandre.
I honestly though Urango would get rid of him before 10. A bit surprised he said Urango doesn't hit hard.
well, urango never got a chance to set his feet.
Really surprised here with Alexander, I think that was the least likely way anyone thought the fight would end.
Still, what a great win for him.
Alexander/Bradley is clearly THEE fight at 140.
Yea, that's what everybody round here keeps saying. It's an obvious good fite. But let's b real at this point in time bradely would kil this fool. Dev had a great fite but is stil too young and unexperienced. Bradely is polished and too knowledgeable n d game. Zab needs to n dev's next test. sraight up and it will only make this fite much bigger. D promoters already know that. I'd love to see it.
