No one On here ever seems to respect oscar or look at his achievements...majority of people on here seem to look down on oscar either then look at what he has achieved in boxing when he was still in the buisness..I might be a Bernard Hopkins Fan but i still think Oscar deserves more credit..
Oscar Beat The Following:
Jeff Mayweather
Julio Cesar Chavez
Pernell Whitaker
Arturo Gatti
Fernando Vargas
Ricardo Mayorga
Felix Strum

People on NSB hate on Oscar and GBP too much and I think they make the sport exciting and unlike Top Rank they don't treat their fighters like circus animals, but atheletes...
Delahoya has mad glory, but his skills never got better, only worse as time went on. He's been a scrub since the Felix Sturm fight. So if anything, he's overrated.
The Mosley fights were close, and Shane was probably roided up at the time as well.
The fact that he even fought all those guys when he could have just fought lesser opponents and still cashed in shows you what type of boxer he was .
Do you think Mayweather has the balls to go and fight someone who outweighs him as much as Bernard did vs DLH?
The Pacqiaou loss was a blowout but I think it was clear from Oscar's previous fight against Forbes that he was not the same fighter he was even a couple a years ago.
Im a big Shane fan obviously and of course a fan of Oscar aswell and I totally agree with you here. His record in the ring speaks for itself and his resume has strength in depth!
Although not related to his P4P status, the haters have got to remember that Oscar dragged the sport back into the mainstream after the post Tyson depression so to speak.

Check the avatar haha im a huge De La Hoya fan bro and I always think this too man seems like alot of people dont respect him just because he is a soft spoken good guy and not a scum bag/cheater like most of the "best" fighters today
i don't know man he lost all his biggest fights
vs Pacquiao
vs Mayweather jr
vs Bernard Hopkins
vs Mosley twice
vs Trinidad
but i respect him he was good for the sport

Oscar i think was one of the most accomplished boxers of not just the last ten years but perhaps all time. I think his skills in his prime were top class, and he had a heart and brain to complement those skills. I think De La Hoya was p4p one of the best ever. But just my opinion.
Shit man Gurerro looks bigger than Mosley in ur avvy!
yeah in sparring they r just as the same, I guess.
Hes a big blown-up super featherweight :D but most boxers r .
IMO Oscar beat Trinidad and Mosley once and lost to Sturm.
Oscar resume speaks for itself though and his pure boxing skill was the best in the game for about a decade.

Oscar Beat The Following:
Jeff Mayweather ah cmon
Julio Cesar Chavez not prime
Pernell Whitaker
Arturo Gatti great win, ah not
Fernando Vargas
Ricardo Mayorga not so big win
Felix Strum only won 4 rounds, ergo loss
he actually won against mosley, who maybe was on roids.

oscar beat some great fighters, but that list is shit
I don't like Oscar but he was willing to fight everyone put before him. Plus he had very good skills. He may have been overrated but he had appeal and drawing power. He was the PPV King.
Geezus. Talk about revisionist history.

Overrated. Plenty of gift decisions and some titles were undeserving. Great guy and very firendly, great skills too. But lost to every big name unless he fought them just about ready to retire and every time there was a moment to shine he dropped it. Ran vs Trinidad and it cost him, stopped thowing the jab vs may and it cost him. There is that shady ko vs Hopkins with such terrible acting and then became partners. Due to his credits he is and will be in the atg list but I don't think he is underrated.
