Joshua Clottey is pacman's first real welterweight that he is fighting.
Oscar de la hoya = was a jr middle weight who drained himself to 147
Hatton was at 140
Cotto was at 145. 145 aint 147.
So technically Clottey is the only one.
Clottey couldn't beat the old man Baldomir or a bloodied & shot version of Cotto. Clottey aint $hit but an excuse pac used to get out of fighting Floyd.
hmm so you guys are saying that 140.1-147 is welter and cotto was welter. Okay...well how come you guys saying Mayweather Jr and Marquez wasn;t welther then lol
Cotto's best weight was 140 pounds, where his lack of Defense was balanced out by the fact he could take the punches of a 140 pounder and recover and deal his own damage. Once he became a ww he started taking more and more damage and started taking on fighters that can walk through his shots and and seriously cause some damage.
kind of agree, but WW was also the most competitive division in the last decade probably. I mean the champ at 140 was ricky... the biggest factor was fighting good guys to fighting some of the best p4p guys in the sport. And he started fighting guys with some of the best chins in the sport. Ricardo Torres beat miguel up pretty bad at 140 though, until cotto went to town on his body.

Really, I think most boxing fans know that, Technically the Miguel fight was welterweight though. And Cotto wasn't drained at 145, he had to lose one more pound than he usually does, on top of that , I am very confident that Cotto would have looked the same at 146 or 147. Cotto actually looked pretty damn good in the Pac fight, until the speed, movement and strategy of manny started to break him down.
na he was clearly drained at 140
He was winning and taking a lot less damage then at 147. I'm not saying he wasn't weight drained, but he was more effective at 140 then at 147.

Even though I didn't agree with the Cotto fight being at 145 instead of 147, the Cotto win was still legit, he beat a legit WW convincingly that night.

Maybe true. But Clottey is the first fighter who wil step on the scales 147.
Word. But 2 pounds ain't gonna make a difference anyway, just like it wouldn't have saved Cotto's ass.

When Margarito weighed 145 against Mosley was he not a WW?
Miguel weighed 146 against Clottey is he not a WW?
Mosley and Miguel both weighed 146 against each other were they not WW's?
how do you know he'll step on the scales at 147? He's weighed 146 before.
Regardless, Clottey always rehydrates crazy weight. He'll be over 160 on fight night.
He weighed 146 3 years ago. He'll be 147.
Way out against who Cotto? Because, I know you're not talking about the Baldomir fight whit that how that ref reacted?
Yeah the Baldi fight. Clottey was out of line. Baldi stunned his ass too. Something is up with Clottey he doesnt have it all upstairs he was looking for a way out. You juts cant lead with your head over and over like that he knows that. Hes been boxing Pro since 1995.
Clottey was looking for a way out...and he got it. Like Earner said Clottey is a mental midget.
