Jorge Linares, along with Hozumi Hasegawa and Edwin Valero... they make up what I call the "Trifecta". I already boosted the hell out of Hozumi and Valero since I got here to Boxing Scene. And it looks like they are somewhat popular now (now people making Valero usernames, :nonono:). Now it's time to give Linares some love too.
Since the title baits you in. Who do you think would win if they faught at Featherweight?
The thing is Manny Pac just sucks in fantasy fights, that is all it is. ATG, prospects, contenders. They all can beat him... He just not a good fighter when it comes to these fantasy fights.
I know you being sarcastic but its just his skills man. Last time we seen him fight a good "boxer" I had him losing the fight. I think thats what it is. The stigma that he can be out boxed will always be in the back of our heads.
Thats like when the other day you asked me to name some ATG lefties he could beat around his weight class when Pac was at the lower weights and man its hard as hell to find one. Its not a hate thing its looking at styles and what both fighters bring to the table.
Thread should have ended right here. Linares is good, but let's not get carried away.

IMHO those guys who believe Linares can beat PAC even the one handed 126 PAC, thinks Linares is better than both Barrera and Marquez ...
these guys keep forgetting what Manny did back then, Marco & Marquez where untouchables at featherweight at that time and Manny touched both of them back-to-back!!
Joms you know I think you a good poster. But styles makes fights bro.
How can you ever compare a GREEN Linares to one of the greatest featherweights of all time? He maybe one handed but legends fell for that. How much more with Linares?
a 'one-handed' PAC at 126 was giving Barrera and Marquez hell yet Linarez whoops him...ok

Who did Pac beat before he beat Barerra?
Former Linear Flyweight Champion Chatchai Sasakul
Former 122 lbs Champion Lehlo Ledwabba
Former 2 Time world Champion Jorge Julio
The Late former Champion Agapito Sanchez
(( CHampion in 2 Weight Division 112, 122 ))
Pac is an Entity before Barrera. There's a big chance you dont know him back then.

Did you even watch the video? Have you even seen Jorge fight?
Jorge's mix of power, quickness, footwork, speed, leverage would have dominated Pac at featherweight. Not to mention Pac's chin wasn't what I would call the best at 126.
Dominate? hahahaha wait wait this is a fantasy fight right? then i agree :D
Im a HUGE fan and supporter of Linares ever since i 1st saw him fight (whoop) on a very game Oscar Larios on an undercard some few years back.I was amazed most by his ring generalship and hand speed, stamina, i could go on forever, point being, i thought he was "the next big thing".Now im not saying he still cant live up to that because he definitely could, but lets be honest, for him to have been knocked out the way he was by some unknown fighter, please! Pac man would do that to him at any weight. And trust me,im not a pacman d***k rider by no means but come on...really???!!! the truth is the truth, Pac man is on some other level,i mean i swear i saw his aura or golden glow around him when he fought cotto. guy's like a modern day Bruce Lee or something...i guess i am like every other pac man fan and didn't even know it.lol.Nah, that's just what the guy IS.Im not giving him anymore credit than he deserves but don't forget, this is from someone who is a bigger Linares fan than i am of Manny.Again, the truth is the truth, regardless of what WE think.
Very Good post.
If this fight is really coming up. I would point out how Pac would demolish Linares. But its a fantasy fight in a fantasy fight Pac always lose.
Pacquiao would have knocked Linares out at featherweight, this thread is a joke.
LOL
You must be on Crack. Pac would never win a fantasy fight againts anyone. LOL
Couldnt agree more

Didnt I say it was an accident. Why you always cheerleading for him?
your bias matches no other. did you play the stuntman for leonardo di caprio in shutter island?
i've also got Billy Dib by wide UD against PAC in a fantasy matchup
I serious doubt Pac can last 12 rounds against Billy Dib. Pac gets hit too easily and was a one handed fighter with bad balance. Billy Dib by KO....
Just because he was unknown doesn't mean he sucks. The dude was Undefeated when he faught Linares. And since then he only lost to 1 guy and that is Uchiyama who is also undefeated; number 1 in japan, and number 4 in the world.
Why are you on Boxing Scene. This aint a basketball forum nor is it the lounge.
In defense of Jorge. Pacquiao and Jorge have both faught Oscar Larios. In the same year too. Pacquiao had a UD against Oscar Larios, going all 12. Linares beat the shit out of him in 10. A year later.
Jorge would beat Pacquiao. Sorry guys. I like Pac too but the skills pay bills.
Well its official Pac can not win a fantasy fight on boxingscene. He is the worst fantasy fighter of all time...
if that unknown fighter knock linares out in round 1 how will he gonna survive to a more proven fighter that has a stamina that could last for 15 rounds. pac's straight left will find his mark for the whole 12 rounds against linares.

lol, I got to reveal my secret to this thread.
I originally intended for this thread just to be about Linares' highlight video. But I knew that Boxingscene doesn't respond to just a video. So, I used a hook to reel people in. So I put the title "pac vs linares 126" which pulled people in. What would have been just a 2 page thread got turned into a 10+ page thread due to intelligent advertising. You see how I do? Same way I got Hasegawa and Valero boosted up on boxingscene. lol
I still think Linares would give it to Pacquiao though. The only way I think Pacquiao wins is by a 12 round epic, insta-classic brawl. Pacquiao has that ability to force people into a brawl even if that wasn't their gameplan. Otherwise I see a beatdown in Linares' favor. The match up just leans towards Linares' side, analysing the the pros and cons. Linares has much more pros at 126 than Pacquiao did. That's why it leans towards Linares' favor.
Smart move with the hook.
Pac was about to start his once-in-a-lifetime run starting at FW and I think a green Linares couldn't have stood in the way. It took a battle tested living legend in Morales to beat Pac by UD. All the other prospects, contenders, champs and former champs were KTFO'd. Same will happen to Linares. Pac was on an unbelievable HIGH (pardon the pun) at FW.
I still like Jorge's style and I wish that he could fulfill his potential. This guy needs to go to GBP, Shaw or Arum and get more exposure. He is a joy to watch. Nice form, timing and can hurt you with both hands. The fight with Diaz proved that he could also overcome difficult fights/fighters.
I always liked Linares. There something about his style, very educated. Reminds me of Canizales - he looks like a pure boxer/puncher. Very nice to watch and very comfortable in the ring.
But I think, Pac's speed trumps Linares at 126. Also, Pac's power can't be ignored at that weight.
What up giftboy?
