Another Highly Talented and Highly rated HBO fighter who doesn't fight anyone that has any chance of beating him...
Probably the slickest current white fighter ...
any fighter in the super 6 can put bute on his ass though seein as they on another level compared to the opposition hes faced
that being said bute also belongs on that other level
miranda has a punchers chance like andrade but hes still a step behind, would be interesting to see bute fight a couple of fighters from the tournament
he better keep fighting good guys, he should be fighting Miranda next and that should be a pretty good test, lets just hope he dosen't fight bums for the next 6 or 7 years and then decide to fight Hopkins and retire.
I like where his career is going. Bika, Joppy, Andrade 2x, and now Miranda is not bad at 29 compared to Calzaghe at 29. If he can fight 2-3 guys from the SMW tourney and beat them then I'd rate him over Calzaghe. Right now despite Calzaghe having the 21 defense thing, their resume in terms of "challenges" taken is not too far apart. Fight the winner of Jones-Hopkins and maybe Glen Johnson and beat them that puts him dead even with Calzaghe minus the defenses. imo.
He's a great combination puncher, good body work too. Fast and accurate, i find him slightly technical as opposed to slick in a way.
He's definatley worthy of being in the Super 6 on skills alone, more worthy than Taylor or Green anyways.
Unfortunatley i would pick Ward, Dirrell, Abraham, Kessler and maybe Froch to beat him. If Bute shows me more by upping the competition and proving that he has what it takes to hang with the major players in the division then i might change my mind.
Bute only needs to fight two over the hill past prime ATG's and he'll equal calzaghe's resume.
And an undefeated Mikkel Kessler, undefeated Jeff Lacy, and Chris Eubank/Bernard Hopkins, depending on which one you count as the second "over the hill past prime ATG" http://209.85.12.234/2230/185/emo/whitey.gif
Very good fighter,in my opinion the best SMW along with Ward.
He's tall,he's fast,good chin,good stamina,good power,devastating body puncher,one of the best combination punchers in the sportaccurate,good jab.
His flaws are that he holds his lead right WAY to low, everytime he had a mark on his face(Berrio and Andrade I) it was the right eye which doesn't get protected due to his low lead hand and also his defense as a whole is his main weakness. For a slick guy he gets hit more than he should.I'm a fan of the Canadian based Romanian.
But I can't say he doesn't wanna fight anyone. You have to realize most good guys are on Super 6 so he will just have to wait.
