Clottey can't mix both his offense/ defense; reminds me alot of Arthur Abraham. You have to be able to mix both, and Clottey rarely does that. Also, Pacquiao's defense, elusiveness has improved...I really can't see how Clottey is gonna be able to counter, especially with that peek-a-boo guard. Unlike Margarito/ Cotto, Pacquiao actually has a straight punch to get through Clottey's guard. It's hard enough that Clottey isn't gonna win enough rounds here, but he doesn't even have a puncher's chance. Cotto has more power then Clottey, and we all saw how Pacquiao took Cotto's punches. In short, Pacquiao Clottey ain't gonna be all that comepetitive. It's a style thing, I'd actually pick Clottey to beat alot of the top WWs.
Beating Clottey is a solid win for anyone, so I'm not here to discredit Pacquiao. All I'm saying is, people should stop making this out to be something it's not. Before people start throwing that "Pactard" "Flomo" crap, I'm also gonna say that I don't see Mayweather Mosley as being all that competitive either. Only difference is, Mosley has a puncher's chance and isn't gonna tire out. Hence, more intriguing matchup.
i hafta say i agree...i never really gave clottey a chance in this. his output is low and against someone like Pac...it would be even lower. I really hoped PAc would KO him but eh. Now waiting for May 1 hehe.
WAR PACQUIAO...
WAR MOSLEY...
This was a good call and I saw it the same. Pacquiao's defense was a bit better then people gave him credit for. He'd constantly move and throw himself in positions where Clottey couldn't counter. When Clottey did counter it was when Pacquiao had stopped throwing like 20 punches.
Pacquiao's defense is pretty good now. A lot better then it was in his Featherweight days.
Anyway, I missed the Soto vs. David Diaz fight :-/

gotta to admit that's one good call bro!:boxing:
good call. I thought the same.
the big difference between Clottey and Abe is that Clottey has more punch variety and boxing ability, and Abe instead has a lot of KO power.
Clottey has never been a very powerful puncher, despite his large size advantage at WW.
Like I said, solid win, taylor made opponent. Clottey's style is to have his opponent stay in front of him after getting off their offense, Pacquiao wasn't that dude.
I would think Judah/Clottey is a more important indicator of things than Cotto or Margarito. And I think Clottey will use that lead right at times with success. But Pac will still win a comfortable UD. But it's not a mismatch. It's just going to be one fighter outworking another.
I have no arguement with what the TS said. That is exacly how it will go. Clottey isn't going to be doing too much of anything in this fight. We all know it but some people just don't want to admitt it.
I will shat myself if Clottey wins. Because I know his chances of winning are 10-90 in Pacquiao's favor.
NSB went to shit a long time ago man, reason I ain't posting often.
theres some gems. But im reminded of its gayness everytime someone doesnt like manny and they're automatically a floyd stan. :/

............Good point.
I do think Pacquaio might not look that impressive against Clottey though, i dont see Manny getting threw with many clean shots, particularly when he most likely wont be looking to get close to Clottey preferring to peck away from long range and use his legs. I can see Clottey walking straight to him behind his guard instead of jabbing his way in and making Pac work harder than he wants to.
i wish Khan was fighting clottey instead of pacman.... khan would easily beat him.... but pacman also beats clottey with ease.....
Amir Khan come on man, seriously Clottey would MURDER KHAN

Finally a legit boxing fan with a working brain! I agree with you 100%.
I agree, Clottey is in for a rough night, Pacquiao should be able to get through his defense with straight lefts and he will probably be able to loop punches through the side. Clottey better not lay on the ropes like he did with Cotto, and in some rounds with Margarito.
