there are a lot of good fighters at 115 and 118 who should nonito fight next?
vic darchinyan,jorge arce,fernando montiel,hozumi hasegawa,yohnny perez,abner mares,joseph agbeko,eric morel,Simphiwe Nongqayi
i hate the way cermeno fights. ugly, dirty runner with wide winging punches.
Eh, I don't think he's really a runner, but he does move a lot. Although you could make the case he did against Valdez at certain points.
He still throws a good amount of punches (even if they are just jabs he flicks out there) and can fight aggressively if he wants to. But yeah, he does have a tendency to wing his hooks.
I guess all that, combined with that fact he clinches a lot, doesn't make him a very fan friendly fighter. :lol1:
Nehomar Cermeno is another quality/awkward fighter that I wouldn't mind seeing Donaire fight.
He's fighting Moreno in March in Venezuela.
BTW, that'll be Moreno's fourth time defending his title on foreign soil. And FWIW, Cermeno is Venezuelan, but lives in Panama......

He needs to move up. Like yesterday.
Hasegawa
Mares
Montiel
Perez
Agbeko
Moreno
Are all waiting for him at Bantam.

winner of abner mares / yohnny perez, then HASEGAWA.
Donaire has fought 5 straight guys who had no chance in hell of beating him and those fights were all fun to watch but it's time to step it up.
His walking around weight is 140 and he can fight anyone from 118 - 135 without any real health problems.
Agreed on all points, throw in the darch rematch for some belts, and shut him up.
I dont know I thought Cobrita Martinez is a pretty damn good fighter
but yeah I see your point and would like to see Nonito's world class talent be tested once in a while
It's tough with Yhonny Perez and Darchinyan aligned with Gary Shaw, those are the two most intriguing fights available in my opinion.
Fernando Montiel just became another interesting possibility after beating Ciso Morales so definitively.

martinez is a good fighter, but he is shorter, smaller and slower than donaire. Donaire just steamrolled him in a pretty entertaining fight.

Unless a fight with Hasegawa is made soon, I don't think it'll happen at 118. It's become harder for him to make 118 and there have been rumors for a while now that he's gonna move up. He is defending his belt in April though.
BTW, you can add Anselmo Moreno to the list of top bantamweights, the guy is underrated IMO.
if hasegawa moves up to 122, donaire can move up there also to fight him with no problem also.
