How much money did Berto get to step aside? i know the tradgety in Haiti was horrible but things worked out perfect for Mayweather\Mosely, A little to perfect. I'm glad this fight is on I was just wondering how much they probably had to give to berto or what they promised him down the line. let me know your thoughts.
I don't think contractually, your forced to postpone a fight if someone pulls out.
Mosley could have just pulled the contract all together to get the Floyd fight since Berto pulled out. I don't think any money was paid.
dude lost his family men, what the f*ck, are we boxing fans that stupid that we think these guys just live for us and dont have a life of their own, come on ! and plus Mosley was not going to just sit around and wait for whenever the fight would have been postponed to, Pacquiao/Mayweather felt apart and Mosley took his chance.

I'm sick and tired of people claiming a natural disaster as a wonderful happening for Mayweather/Mosley, or how perfect it was for them. People are dead, and i doubt very much money had any factor in Berto choosing to step aside, i would imagine there was some sort of agreement for them to meet down the line and thats about it.
if he did, thats a bonus. but i cant see him asking for step aside money to attend to his fam.
I don't discard the fact that the news about Haiti and his family affected his state of mind, but to the point of stepping out of possibly the biggest fight of his life at this point? naw, he was paid to step off, it wasn't just about Haiti.
i highly doubt he's getting paid as if the fight actually took place...they gave Berto $7.34 and a promise to fight a jr welter in his return
How was your trip?
Why are you on bs this early? Don't you have work to get done?
He's probably going to get paid the amount he agreed with Mosley. More than Clottey is getting from his fight with Pacquiao.
i doubt it but who knows ... i figured in the 100-250k range but thats just a wild guess ...
shame clottey is getting raped in that deal with pac ... but at least its still a career high pay day. but the guys not even getting 5%
i dunno but some people have been bashing berto for pulling out and thats bullshit ... even if money was involved....
I just feel everyone benefited from the unfortunate situation..Berto can now step aside from the biggest fight of his career and still get some cash without going into the fight with a heavy heart and distracted, Floyd can over shadow Pac-Man opponent with shane, GBP has a big PPV and not Floyd vs..amir Khan or something like that.
This is not meant as any disrespect but I have atleast 100 members of my fam, who I don't know and if they died tomorrow I would be sad but would be able to move on. My thoughts were that it was tough on him but he was still going to fight. PBF & GB could have approched him about moving aside and getting his head straight. They then could of offered a mil or so and a promised fight against the winner. No type of money is going to bring back his family members..I didn't say that, but this was the biggest fight of his career and I'm sure he was going to still fight but was persuade against it.
i think he got step aside money too ... cause the fight was cancelled not postponed. but if he did i do not see any prob with that either ... i dont understand why some are trying to make an issue of it. the circumstances were tragic and way more then excusable for him to have pulled out ...
my thoughts: youre a foolish bastard. 8 of his family members died at once, theres not enough money in the world to buy that.
true, but i'm sure he got some step aside money
