Australian WBO interim lightweight champion Michael Katsidis believes WBA Jr-welterweight champion Amir Khan is avoiding him as an opponent for the US debut of Khan in his next fight, even thought the popular Australian has offered to move up to 140 pounds.
In a statement issued through his manager Brendon Smith he stated, “I was told that Freddie Roach was willing to accept me as his next opponent for a possible March 27th fight. It is obvious he has the confidence that you can beat me. In addition, the TV networks and the promoters wanted this fight.
I was told by those involved that it was Amir personally that refused the fight – the only person that didn’t want it to happen.
This is surprising given I am the lightweight and prepared to move up in weight to take him on even when he recently stated his superior speed will out punch me on a scale of three to one.” American Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz recently accepted a challenge from Katsidis to meet in a revenge match up which is expected to be inked in the next few weeks. No date or venue have been set but Katsidis is prepared to fight him in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

did you actually see the end of the fight, the kid got up once, and tried to like hell to get up the second time, the boy might not have the chin, but has the balls and heart to get in the ring and work his arse off to be the best he can be and come back fighting.
kudos to the man.
Yeah he might not have the best chin but he was desperately trying to get up. Atleast he has heart. And I am still not sure about the chin because those shots that he took were flush on and would have knocked most people out. I am hoping he gets hit a little bit in his next fight so we can really see whats up with his chin. Maybe at 140 he might hold up better.
You can't knock Katsidis for not fighting Funeka when no one else will either.
Katsidis's style is all wrong for Funeka anyways, he would get demolished.
The idea Kahn is ducking Katsidis is crazy, I think Kahn would smack him around the ring. He's to small and just flat out not good enough for Kahn. Katsidis is exciting, hes not great.
first time hearing about this Katsidis dude...

moneyy
they all just want a big payday
not only money i think its a sense that amirs chin is ready to get touched at any moment its that idea that he has a weakness and brings a name that makes these guys call him out
Didn't Kastidis just duck Funeka? wtf you on about lol
Khan is avoiding you? First, get through your challenge Funeka.
Ali Funeka is becoming very feared. No body wants a piece of him since that Guzman fight.
All I have to say to this is..
"Ali Funeka"
this^^^ you shouldnt call someone out for ducking when you are ducking someone else at the exact same time
every day a new guy comes off saying Amir is avoiding him. lol
Marquez avoided Amir because Marquez knows Amir is dangerous. That's how good Amir is!
why is Khan avoiding Maidana?
