Both of these bucket-list geezers should be ashamed of themselves.
These two have been playing games for years when everyone was begging for them to get in the ring but now they are pulling in social security and want to fight each other when both are 5-7 years past their prime. Better late than never my ass. This would have been on par with Mayweather/Pacman in terms of excitement 5-7 years ago. Now there is no way in hell I would pay money to watch these two fight.
I'll still be rooting for Hopkins though.
Had Jones not lost the way he did in his last fight, this rematch would not be happening! BIG HEAD would still be ducking Jones.
that shit was sooo funny
These two should be settling this for less money on regular HBO if it was all about legacy and personal beef, with the KO winner still getting 60%, but not PPV. Then I would believe them.
The whole desperate, "you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't order this historic fight" promotional line by hopkins was pathetic.
That's what triggered this thread.
Initially I felt like who really cares about this fight? But that was the wrong way to look at this. This fight has no pretense of establishing either guy at 175 it is simply a pure entertainment fight. So if you care about Hopkins or Jones, you have seen there first fight and the strings of drama throughout the years about the potential rematch then watch the fight otherwise it is pretty much irrelevant. Im buyin cause I think it will be the end of Jones long career and an interesting way for either guy to go out if they choose.
