I feel Pascal is a better than Tavoris Cloud and also worth more legacy wise.
Iceta feels Cloud is a better fighter than Pascal is is wirth more legacy wise.
What do other boxing fans think?
This point is a load of shit as well.
There's no evidence that Cloud-Johnson will be on HBO, Glen Johnson suggested in an interview this week that it may be on FNF.
So no...it doesn't count for something, especially when you consider that we're discussing who the best win would be right now, not who the best win would be in the future if fantasy fights worked out the way you want them (and on the fantasy TV station you want it to be on :lol1:)
If you have been on these threads and paid attention to my posts you would know I'm rooting for Glen Johnson to beat Tavoris Cloud. But Dawson still won't fight someone that's his age and injury free. And evidently you don't keep up with the news because HBO is strongly considering having the Cloud-Johnson fight on Berto's card. You should at least attempt to know what you're talking about before you quote my posts.
Because of his 2 demolishing wins over Diaconu, it's Pascal who'd be a better name for Dawson to have. No question. But if Cloud beats Johnson, then Dawson absolutely needs to fight him within the next year or so.
I see all this as being a natural progression towards crowning the best LHW in the world - for right now, we can't be totally sure who deserves that accolade (Dawson, Cloud and Pascal all have a case).
Dawson beat Adamek, Johnson and Tarver who were in the upper tier of the LHW division. There is no question who is the best LHW right now
Pascal is very intelligent and he learn a lot in his defeat against Froch. From now on Pascal will be very hard to beat. He is right now recovering from a shoulder operation he should fight Dawson very soon...maybe june !

Sorry son, but I ain't your gopher.
Plus Cloud is getting ready to fight Johnson on HBO. Has Pascal been on HBO yet? I'm not saying that doesn't make him a good fighter. But with HBO throwing Cloud on the air with one of Dawson's past rivals shows you what their intentions might be. What if Pascal's injury doesn't heal up by June? People will have forgotten about him while Cloud is going to be fighting on a card that will rep Haiti hard. That's gotta count for something.
Provide me a You Tube vid and I may watch some highlights. I think they replayed it on FSN, but it got little attention at the time.

No, Froch would not beat Cloud. Also, I'm not high on Froch, but I don't think he sucks either. Cloud would also fight Froch at 175, and I believe today's Pascal would beat Froch.....
I ask you that because while he lost, you yourself have not viewed the fight and going on the opinions of others. How can you legitimately criticize him for that loss then? You have no idea how the fight went, how he represented himself, etc.

Because he didn't win it. That's why. And most people including myself think Froch sucks. Ask yourself this question. Do you think Froch could beat Cloud? I'm shocked at the amount of people who think Cloud isn't better than Pascal. He got in more fights last year due to Cloud's miscalculation-inclined management. But that doesn't make him a better fighter.

Pascal managed to stun Froch a few times, but he did not have him on queer street, if that's what you are really looking for. He also stunned Diaconu in both fights, Iceta.
This brings me to my next question, why do you criticize Pascal for that fight when you haven't seen it?
Sorry, but I will disagree in regards to the Adamek fight. Dawson was dropped, but I don't think he was on the verge on getting stopped....

I'm just comparing each guy's performances against the best fighters they fought.
Breakdown of Tavoris Cloud's opponents and his results against them:
vs. Julio Gonzales - Cloud looked impressive in this fight. Damn impressive. Sure, Gonzales was kind of old. But Cloud became the first guy to ever stop him. Something that Roy Jones coudln't do. Gonzales showed in that fight that his solid chin was the last thing to go and still fought a tough fight but was still TKOd.
vs. Clinton Woods - Cloud got off to a slow start, granted. But he dominated the rest of the fight after the fourth round even though he got hit a little bit too much for my liking. Some people will tell you that he beat Woods less impressively than Tarver did, and I beg to differ. Tarver never really landed anything on Woods that almost KOd him like Cloud did, and Woods is another fighter with a damn good chin. And on top of that Cloud got hit less and less as the fight went on and won 9-3 when I was scoring it.
Woods and Gonzales all have one thing in common. They are not the most skilled guys in the world. But it's damn near impossible to knock them down. I don't think Pascal could've KOd Gonzales even if he tried, or Dawson for that matter.
Breakdown of Jean Pascal's opponents and his results against them:
vs. Carl Froch - I didn't see this fight, but from what I hear it was pretty competitive even though Froch won. But the question I have is did Pascal ever hurt him? Because this is something that Andre Dirrel and Jermaine Taylor who are smaller than Pascal were able to do. Froch has the reputation of having a Margarito-like chin similar to what Woods and Gonzales do, but I just don't see it. And Pascal lost this fight at 168 on top of it.
vs. Adrian Diacanu - Wins are wins, and regardless of how untested Diacanu was Pascal came through in these fights. But once again, he failed to hurt a guy who has never fought a boxer with a decent KO record except for Rico Hoye. So how tested is Diacanu's chin? Pascal won the fights, but they were somewhat competitive and he failed to hurt Diacanu like Cloud did to Woods and Gonzales.
Therefore I come to the conclusion that Tavoris Cloud > Jean Pascal. And sorry 2501, but you will never convince me that Dawson isn't taking the path of least resistance. Face it, he's afraid to fight a guy with punching power.
The times he did he got nearly KOd by Adamek even though he won the rest of the fight clearly and he had to fight Glen Johnson in the second fight like a chicken with it's head cut off because he knew Johnson knocked his head off in the 10th round of the first fight. Dawson is afraid of power.

no matter who dawson picks hes gonna be ducking the other according to some ppl. but real fans know eighter one is a great fight.
it really doesnt matter to me, match those 3 up however u want and ill be watching. 3 young champions, each of them with the potential to be a great fighter one day. hopefully they will all get a chance to fight eachother.
lots to look forward to in the 175 lb division, some real good talent. i didnt think it was possible but just thinking about these matchups made me care about hopkins-jones II even less.
