im going to see all of them reguardless. showtime and hbo both ondemand can watch the fights in HD whenever i want. so ill jsut watchever comes on first and catch the other on reply. and reply be like an hour on like hboo2 after the first one goes off. its no biggie im glad they compete. means good boxing matching all night long
They are rival companies they have to compete.
Wasn't always like that, they used to have an unspoken agreement not to have fights on the same dates. Not sure but i believe it started a few years ago, imo probably because Showtime started to get a bit more competitive & better quality so HBO started viewing them as real compitition.
Whatever the reason is it's fuking retarded from an overall boxing standpoint, these dumbasses need to realize it hurts the sport more than helps it. Spread that shit around.
It's not as bad as you think.
The Froch-Kessler fight will be aired earlier in Europe on a separate network.
The only Showtime fight that's happening live at the same time as the HBO fights is Ward vs Green. I'm not too interested in that one.
So it's all good for me. :boxing:
It might be good for you... but Showtime will air Froch-Kessler on tape delay... Some fans will not stream it or can't find a stream or will just wait till the showtime fight to watch it in better quality... So they will watch it with Ward-Green in the U.S... And, some will watch HBO fight... Either way it hurts both companies but HBO cuz they pay more for their fights...

Fair enough, but I plan on watching Froch-Kessler on the Showtime broadcast, and won't be streaming it live, so you and I may differ on that. I'll be avoiding the site at the time of the fight. I'm also pretty interested in Ward vs Green as well.
Like I said also, they are doing it on March 6th as well. I'd rather them spread it out.
Its HBO doing it alot. They feel they have 2 one up them.
yea but them doing that hurts cuz they will be sharing ratings with Showtime... Instead of putting boxing on dates that Showtime has no shows they will get the full ratings... But, them doing this non sense is one of the many reasons why they cut 15mil from their boxing budget this year... Which hurts us the fans cuz we get less boxing...

Have you noticed that Shotime does not counter program HBO shows? Think when has Showtime ever counter program an HBO show?
I don't like the fact that HBO is putting their shows on the same night as Showtime's. They are doing it on March 6th as well.
Sorry, but why can't they spread the dates around? Do they feel that much of a need to compete with Showtime?
Exactly that is what I have been saying as well... I don't get why HBO does this...

Jones/Hops is April 3rd.
You forgot:
Quintana vs. Vanes
Pavlik vs. Martinez
Shit sorry, I got mixed up between Popkins and Pavlik's next fights. My bad.
Roy Jones Jr. vs. Bernard Hopkins
Edison Miranda vs. Lucian Bute
Carl Froch vs. Mikkel Kessler
Allan Green vs. Andre Ward
The first fight is a bit of a joke but this is some serious action.
I think that fight is on April 3rd...
And, Showtime card>HBO card... Even though I am a Lucian Bute fan the Super 6 is more important... Catch the Bute fight on replay...
