Lara beats these guys easy !!!!
not easily. he'd be right there for henry to hit. henry is monster of a puncher.
if grady brewer can hurt and put lara down, henry would do more than that.
...and im a big lara fan.
L.Lane is actually making 140lbs now and fighting on ESPN FnF in Cleveland. He is Omar's teamate as well. Also, part of the Henry, Lane rotation are Jermell and Jermall Charlo, both very good 147lb prospects.
Omar is solid at 154lbs and will remain there for quite awhile. He may go to middleweight eventually but not in the next few years..
As for the Porter comparision, at this point, Porter has many many more rounds on an elite amateur level than Henry, so he has a big advantage in being much more seasoned.
You cant really take anything from their pro bouts so far for comparision. Style-wise, they both have above average speed and power. I dont think anyone can say at this point which is the better pure boxer, and both have good defense, with Porter being slightly better at blocking punches. Henry has a very good body attack, but Porter's compact stance may negate that partially.
As for Omar being overly aggressive and leaning over his front foot, well 6 1st round KO's in his first 7 bouts will make you look like that.
Having more amateur experience dosent mean anything look at Sergio Martinez he didnt even have a amateur background and look how great hes doing plain and simple Omar will beat Shawn hands down Shawn is 1 dimensional while Omar is diverse he can box as well as brawl and has great defense with his tight compact punches very composed unlike Shawn.
you should also keep your eyes out for two other guys Dominic Wade and Lenard Lane who could also make noise at 147 and 154

It's great how these two are getting compared already.
Reminds me of Kirkland/Angulo sorta, except I think his has started even earlier.
If they fight at some point it will be a fight that will have been in the makings for YEARS.
It reminds me too of when everyone was comparing Angulo and Kirkland, that's how I came up with the idea.
LOL, future fantasy fight! :D
Two undefeated 154 pound bruisers that are also highly touted prospects. Who wins? Who's better? Who has more potential?
i Reckon Porter wins this one..

I think by the time Omar becomes gets to a championship level, he'll be at Middleweight.
Dude is a real big JMW.
Porter is a pretty big (but short) dude. He fought at SMW (165+) for his pro debut, and for his fight against Brandon Wooten last June he came in at 161½.

I really don't like Henry's footwork at this point. And he tends to lean forward exposing himself to uppercuts similar to the way Cotto does. But he does still have time to learn.
Honestly, regardless of the fact I get on well with Shawn and I'm a fan of his, I think he beats Omar right now. No bias, I'm trying to be honest. Omar is an excellent prospect but for me Shawn edges it in terms of talent.

I was thinking how that could be a huge advantage also.
Sparring everyday with top fighters adds something to your experience and makes you a better fighter. Working with the best trainers makes you better. If you played basketball with Micheal Jordan everyday for 2 months as oppose to playing with me, you would develop to be a better basketball player. Experience man.

yep
Omar is a big dude while Shawn is small in stature but built like a tank
