We all know the chances of this are slim to none, but what if Floyd did actually stop Shane? Would that silence his critics once and for all? Would his haters finally give him some props? How big of a statement would it actually be? Would it make Pacquaio's win over Hatton look pale in comparison?

1) No and with good reason.
2) Some of them would.
3) Pretty big, but Shane's 38. He's a good 38, but he's 38 and not at his physical peak. Regardless of who you blame for this fight happening this far into Shane's career, there's no gettin' around that.
4) Imo, a PBF KO of Mosely(or any kind of legit stoppage) would outshine Pac's KO of Hatton by a pretty big margin.

Jr couldn't put the bloated LW JMM away. There's absolutely no chance in hell he's stopping SSM. If anyone is going to get stopped in this fight; it'll be SSM stopping Jr. On the chance that he did knock Mosley out...I give him his props...but that ant happening. Nor will there be comparisons between Pacquiao's win over Hatton -- as i do not see Floyd dominating this fight -- the way Pacquiao Dominated Hatton in there fight.
steroids? the kind that don't show on blood tests...
He drank his own urine?
Paster of Paris?
hahah if he KO Shane... Pac better retire for 2 years and say he has nothing left to prove. Then come back and wait to fight Floyd until he turns 38.

like you said this is very unlikely to happen unless mosley has aged overnight.
Maybe if Richardson ties Mosleys hands behind him and actually holds him down pinning him against the canvas just Maybe Floyd has a chance. Now if indeed Floyd stops Mosley then I will give him his props hands down I couldn't say nothing bad bout him!!

he suppose to stop stop mosley cuz shame is old!! :chairshot
It could happen without Floyd having to "slug it out" with Mosley. In fact I think Mayweather's chances for a KO would be much lesser if he tried to go toe-to-toe.
The way Floyd can and possibly will KO Mosley is by landing shots that Mosley never sees coming. Look at the knockdown of Marquez by Floyd. JMM never saw the lead left hook coming at him.
The same can happen to Mosley. I can't remember the last time Shane fought a fighter with speed and defense.
Everyone knows if PBF wins its gonna be on points, theres no way he'd risk slugging it out with SSM and thats the only way he'd be able to KO him...
Having said that if PBF wins via KO or even TKO itll be a huge boost for him, and itll give him a license to run his mouth even greater than he already does.
There's no way to stop his critics. Even if Floyd had fought everyone, and beat everyone, there would still be excuses why those fights were not great wins. Floyd has caused this hatred with his mouth, and as long as he is fighting, there will continue to be criticism. The funny thing is deep down everyone knows he's the best whether they would like to admit it or not. Even Pacquiao fans were crying he wasn't going to get enough rest if they had fought in March. Where are those excuses now?
Good point. I feel you with that.

If he did ending up stopping Shane I think it will definitely be unfair for the public to write it off as anything else but a huge accomplishment. To say that Shane was washed up, or rusty, or whatever would be crazy.
