When floyd, manny, shane, cotto, etc. are gone
who will takeover in the future?
who will be up in the P4P ranks?
my picks so far:
Andre Ward
Yuri Gamboa
Andre Berto
Edwin Valero
Timothy Bradley
Chad Dawson (maybe if the LHW division gets more interesting)
but yea.. what do you guys think?:boxing:
Americans
Andre Ward will head a list of great fighters into the future consisting of Dirrell, Alexander, Gary Russell Jr., Shawn Porter, Fernando Guerrero, Danny Jacobs, Shawn Estrada, and the one know one has heard of out of the whole bunch my man from DC Dominic Wade. When Wade peaks he will make you forget about all the names mentioned.
I think Victor Ortiz is not done yet...I feel as though we will see a more better side to him. I also think Devon Alexander and Amir Khan can carry on to greatness as well. Tim Bradley and Edwin Valero, those guys are already gaining LOTS of fans. :boxing:
The Trifecta. :boxing:
Hozumi Hasegawa
Jorge Linares
Edwin Valero
Hozumi is already a superstar in Japan though. So I don't know if he would count. Jorge Linares is only muthafuckin 24 years old and already has the high-end skill set like an elite boxer. Edwin Valero is 28, he is destined for greatness, I just hope he can refine his skills a bit more, it will make him truelly unbeatable.
Andre Ward, no doubt in my mind, the guy has everything. Good defense, offense, movement, intelligence in the ring, dedication, stamina, and the most important, good jab
A lot of the names mentioned are the guys I have high hopes for too. But wouldn't it be right to put some of these fights (i.e. Gamboa vs Lopez) on a major card (i.e. Pacquiao vs Mayweather if it ever happens). I realise someone is taking a financial hit for something like that to happen, but to me the 'greed is good' mantra in boxing has ultimately worked against the sport in ways highly detrimental.
To me, boxing needs occasionaly to put all its superstars - current and future - in there against each other on the same night in the same building, and not wait 17 years for the rematch.
Gamboa, Rigondeaux, Lara and Solis lol
Aside from three of the Cuban defectors, I like the way Daniel Jacobs' being moved and after this weekend I'll be able to give yo the reportcard on Mike Jones.
I also really like Danny Jacobs. Good hand speed and power in both hands.
