Okay gentlemen to be honest up until Saturday night I was not so sure about Valero. I had seen some tape of him on you tube and from what I had heard about him on the show I thought he was a face first brawler. I watched him Saturday night and I was VERY impressed. I thought he displayed a good jab and his in and out movement was excellent. He was shooting the left hand over the top of DeMarco's jab and countering him and getting out of range quickly. He was able to frustrate DeMarco and I thought he did not come close to putting him down but he did stun or hurt him at least two times during the fight. The fact he had that terrible gash in the side of his head and the cut on his right eye lid was also bleeding into his eye was crazy. he just kept on fighting after he made sure the reff knew the cut on the right side of his head was from an elbow. I am really crazy about seeing him in a future match up against anothe top 135lb fighter....Lefty

i kind of agree with you.....
I kinda of agree to a certain extent but he defintely stunned him I think he was content with getting his shots off and getting out of range. I think that was a good strategy. He could have went balls to the wall and go for KO. Instead he got the TKO and made a Mexican quit....Not easy to do that....Lefty
Everyone is getting 'destroyed' by Valero.
He didnt even 'destroy' DeMarco.
He didnt seem to hurt him, or put him down, or KO him.
DeMarco seemed fatigued and mentally defeated at the finish.
i kind of agree with you.....
That was pretty impressive..... hope this guy get his shot to the spotlight!!
I notice that demarco wasn't stunned or wobble at any moment... He just got battered by a stronguer man.... Also he needs to be more active!! Him starting so slow against valero wasa a bad strategy, because by the time he decided to let his hands go, he was already a beaten man!!! He could have been more bussy, specially with hid jab,
according to you.... valero wasnt going to beat a POLISHED SKILLED FIGHTER LIKE DEMARCO.. but he made his corner call it a NO MAS.. which was SMART ...
soto will get battered just like demarco
Sure I was wrong, Valero proved me wrong and so did DeMarco, that wasn't the DeMarco I knew he was never in the fight and let me down. I wasn't the only one who thought a fighter like DeMarco could expose Valero's flaws, Valero proved to be the more complete fighter in the end, at least I admit it and I show my face unlike your people that run for the hills once their idol gets a mask full of blood after taking knees, fukk off.

I don't know about getting destroyed, that fight would be a fight fire with fire scenario, Soto brings it, can punch and has mega output like Valero, plus a solid chin. I'm not saying Soto will win but I like his chances against Valero.

Sure Valero is a reckless commi-monster of destruction but he still has a lot of flaws that can easily be picked on by elite opposition. I would die for a Soto-Valero matchup, that would be chaos.
I saw a short guy who misses with most of his shots, poor technique, and poor defence most of the time, against an opponent who stood there, didnt use his jab, wasnt fast enough and didnt have a clue what to do in the corners.
DeMarco got tired and didnt land shit, Valero out worked him and threw volumes of punches, some of which landed.
Diaz doesn't have the power to hurt Valero though, guys like Katsidis or Maidana have a punchers chance. I don't see diaz surviving 12 rounds and winning on workrate.
I agree. Diaz has a good workrate himself but Valero threw 90-100 punches a round. And those are not pitty pat punches. They have a bad intention of knocking you out. Plus his tenacity after the cut reminds me very much of young pac. If you saw pac-solis, it was after the cut that pac moved up another gear to finish solis off.
Valero could be the man at 135. Hope he gets a fight with Jmm. That way we will know if he is elite or not. Right now the potential is very much there.
I want him to move up to 140. I can't see no real threat at 135, and all the names are at Light-Welter.
I'm hearing a lot of talk of Valero/Bradley, now that i wouldn't mind seeing.
Valero is a beast, I can't wait to see him fight again. Seem's like Valero is really after the big pay day against Pacquiao and might move up in weight to fight Bradley. I'd rather see that fight at the end of the year and see him take on a Guzman, Kotelnik, Juan Diaz or JMM at LW first. I'd also love for Valero to come over to the UK and fight Kevin Mitchell but I can't see that happening as Mitchell isn't even ranked by the WBC.
Valero vs Juan Diaz @ 135lbs

i watched alotta that old dougie fischer sparring vid and i always knew he was better then alotta what i saw from his pro matches. but he was even better on sat then i expecteced. great mental/physical toughness, high workrate decent speed countering range footwork ... he still needs work but overall i was impressed. really looking forward to seeing him fight again... waaaarrr caveman!!
I would not mind seeing Valero vs Juan Diaz. It would be a good judge to let us know if Valero could move up to 140lb and challenge Bradley or someone up there. I think Valero would knock out Khan....Lefty

I was very much a Valero doubter before Saturday, and he completely won me over. I thought it was an amazing performance and his reflexes and 'timing and inches', as Mayweather would put it, were masterful.
Shit i'd love to see that fight, i don't see Katsidis winning but it'd be entertaining as hell while it lasted

Valero look like a refine version of Mayorga but a poor man version of 122-126 Pacquiao LOL. He is very brutal and fight with alot of heart though. Valero vs Katsidis or J Diaz would be nice though.
