Its a fact. Pacquiao needs Mayweather in order to get his biggest pay-day. Pac has never made 20 million in one fight, while Floyd has done it twice already and will make that again with Shane. The record for most ppv buys is owned by Floyd Mayweather. In order for Pac to break that record, he has to fight Floyd! All roads lead to Floyd Mayweather.
What is sad about this is that Arum is actually happy the fight did not happen. Arum wasnt to hot on giving Pacquiao that 25 million dollars anyway. Arum is all about Arum and does not have Manny's best interests at heart.
-Arum is making close to the same dough by putting on an all Top Rank bout
-Floyd is making close to the same dough by fighting Mosley.
-Pac is getting a third, maybe less of what he couldve got with Floyd.
Pac is the loser in all of this, and all because of a silly superstition.
You tell me to post alink then I do in less then 30 seconds and now you are back tracking. The guy made 30 Million dollars last year.
That figure is from 2008, not 2009. Again, use some common sense, he didn't make $30 million from the JMM fight alone with only 1.2 PPV and only made $36 million from the DLH fight with 2.2+ PPV, and he has no endorsements. Just remember that WWE paid Floyd $20 milllion in 2008 and he did have several endorsements as well. BTW, not backtracing at all, just not believing, and just take a look at the Forbes list that specifically said 2009 top earnings. But to be a man of my word, i do apologize but i still don't believe it base on common sense.

No harm , no foul.
Thanks for the link, but i'd rather believe Forbes list, besides, that report from Businessweek might have been for 2008, not 2009. You can't possibly believe that he made $30 million from the JMM fight when he only made $36 million from the DLH fight, and without any endorsements.
Our list of the highest-paid athletes looks at earnings derived from salaries, bonuses, prize money, endorsements and licensing income between June 2008 and June 2009 and does not deduct for taxes or agents' fees. Overall, the top 20 earned $789 million, down 1% from last year. The cutoff to make the list was $30 million.
Drop-offs from last year include boxer Floyd Mayweather (has not fought since December 2007), NFL players Ben Roethlisberger and Dwight Freeney (both made the 2008 list after inking contracts with big signing bonuses) and Formula One driver Fernando Alonso (just missed the cut).
The highest-ranking of the four newcomers to the list is boxer Manny Pacquiao who earned $40 million over the last year, tied for the sixth most. Pacquiao cemented his claim as the world's best pound-for-pound fighter with convincing knockouts of Oscar De La Hoya in December and Ricky Hatton in May. The two blockbuster fights garnered more than 2 million pay-per-view buys in the U.S. and earned Pac-Man $30 million combined.
Here's the list.
No. 1 Tiger Woods $110 million
No. 2 Kobe Bryant (Tie) $45 million
No. 2 Michael Jordan (Tie) $45 million
No. 2 Kimi Raikkonen (Tie) $45 million
No. 5 David Beckham $42 million
No. 6 LeBron James (Tie) $40 million
No. 6 Phil Mickelson (Tie) $40 million
No. 6 Manny Pacquiao (Tie) $40 million
No. 9 Valentino Rossi $35 million
No. 10 Dale Earnhardt Jr. $34 million
No. 11 Roger Federer (Tie) $33 million
No. 11 Shaquille O'Neal (Tie) $33 million
No. 13 Oscar De La Hoya (Tie) $32 million
No. 13 Lewis Hamilton (Tie) $32 million
No. 13 Alex Rodriguez (Tie) $32 million
No. 16 Vijay Singh $31 million
No. 17 Kevin Garnett (Tie) $30 million
No. 17 Jeff Gordon (Tie) $30 million
No. 17 Derek Jeter (Tie) $30 million
No. 17 Ronaldinho (Tie) $30 million
Floyd made 30 Million dollars. He only fought once against a guy who is not a huge draw.
Pac made 36 Million. But he had TWO fights vs. Cotto and Hatton to GOOD draws.
Bullshit, Floyd didn't even made the Forbes top 20 list of sports athletes that made the most in 2009 let alone top 10, the last one at 20, well actually tied for 17 is Ronaldhino that made $30 million. So how the fvck you're going to tell me that Floyd made $30 million and another Flomo says that Manny only made $1 million more. Show me proof or any link that says so and i'll gladly apologize for my mistake. Anyway, here's the link from Forbes.

You're wrong, Manny Pacquiao is a bigger cash cow than Floyd.
LOL, in your dreams. Most Pactards are only Pacquiao fans because he's the second best and with a chance to beat Floyd. They revolve around seeing Floyd lose. It's all about Mayweather anyway, Pacquiao is a tool.
And you all know I'm right.
its amazing how people care so much how about another person makes.floyd made this, pac made that, so n so is the cash cow.do you guys get more excited about a boxing fight or how much they make?are you guys actually getting a percentage of their purse and thats why there's so much talk about it?

Manny made $40 million last year and made the Forbes top 10 Richest sports athlete. Manny is also with Nike, and Mayweather is with who, i thought so. But keep hating anyway, if that makes you feel better, then so be it.
No way in hell am I saying Floyd is Oscar! IMO it goes like this:
1. Tyson(he did 2 million twice and 1 million with mcneely, pre 24/7)
2. Oscar De La Hoya
3. Mayweather
4. Pacquiao
Thats your mount Rushmore of boxing ppv.
What about Holyfield? I think he has more PPV buys then Pac... you know what I am actually not sure if that is really true anymore...
If you believe I am knocking Floyd cuz of 24/7 then you should also feel that I am knocking Pac cuz of 24/7 cuz I am saying the same thing for him also...
Some of Floyd fans try to put Floyd on Oscar level... Which is stupid to me cuz he is not... Oscar didn't have 24/7 with Tito, Hopkins, Mayorga, and Vargas and still did great numbers... Imagine if he did have it?
24/7 is the biggest draw in boxing...

Nope, don't know how to search for it.
I can search for it... Do you remember the title of the thread or the name of the poster who created the thread?
who gives a shit about money. mosley was tied up with berto fight so he pac couldnt fight him so he chose another tuff top welterweight to fight. mayweather is only fighting mosley because he has to and mosley is a bigger draw than clottey.
Why are you using 24/7 to knock Floyd when he has done better numbers vs. Pacs opponents with the same tool?
If he fights Khan, Alvarez or Chavez Jr in the future. He will still have 24/7.
Again if you feel I am knocking Floyd cuz of the 24/7, then you must also feel I am knocking Pac cuz I am saying the same thing about him...
Is not a sure thing Khan and Alvarez will still be hot in the future especially with Golden boy running their careers... Chavez Jr popularity has gone down so much that I am not sure HBO would want to pay for that 24/7... But, maybe you right and they will cuz of the name...
Manny will make over 10 million for the fight, trust me... he might be guaranteed under 10 million I don't know, but PPV sales will push his purse up higher than 10 million.
Not that it matters though, doesn't effect our bank accounts either way.
I would assume Floyd gets much more than 10 million for the Mosely fight as Mosely is more known than Marquez (10 million is what Floyd made in his fight with Marquez). This fight is generating more interest than most of his previous fights with the fans as it is a prelude to what most think sets up a Manny fight.Besides the free promotion across the internet (mainly about the broken Pacquiao fight),ESPN,etc this fight will easily beat the Manny fight.Even on here at NSB-hardly anyone is talking about the Manny/Clottey fight-the Floyd and Shane fight will be a huge event in ppv...
He will fight Pac unless Pac wants to destroy his legacy. If Pac doesn't want it then who knows. I'd like to see Floyd push Haymon for the Berto or Williams fight. Although the fans wouldn't like it, Khan and Alvarez will always be possibilities until Floyd retires.
See he can't push Haymon to make Berto or Williams cuz is against the law for Haymon to get a % from both of his fighters split, who fight each other... The only way those fights can be made if Haymon steps aside and does not get paid... That is what I was trying to explain to Burner of that Arum does not get a % of his fighters purses when they fight each other... Is against the law...
Why do you consider 24/7 as a knock on Floyd?
He had a hand in the 24/7 and with that amazing tool he did 1 million better than Pac against DLH, and 600k better than Pac against Hatton....with the same tool.
Yes 24/7 enhances views, but Hopkins and others havent been able to use it as effectively as Floyd.
Floyd is the draw.

Well since Floyd will never fight a Joshua Clottey for the rest of his career, we will never find out what he would do without 24/7.
You right he would never fight Clottey. But, if Floyd beats Shane and a Pac fight does not get made... Who will Floyd? If it is not a big name maybe they won't have a 24/7 and we can see what numbers he does without it...
I would believe it when Floyd does big numbers without 24/7....

Floyd is the draw.
Thats true. Its not hard to look at common oppnents and see who the bigger draw is.
Floyd did better with Hatton, Oscar, and JMM.
I mean thats a fact.
I give Oscar and Hatton but I can't give you JMM...
But, I don't think Pac is the biggest draw in boxing either... I say 24/7 is...
