After watching Valero more closely, against a decent opponent - if not top tier opposition- one thing is clear. Edwin has enough speed and pop that, with his agression and confidence, he's not going to be a flash in the pan.
His longevity is going to have more to do with how he's matched and if he can continue to knock people out. Valero's hype is built on his power. It's alright to be a B+ level boxer if you hit like a truck. I mean, styles make fights, right? Maybe he'll be a limited technical fighter but with very good power. There's a niche role to be filled for fighters like that.
I didn't see quite the explosiveness in power I expected against DeMarco, but I saw decent use of speed and combinations; coupled with his heart to keep fighting with that gash, and it all translates to Valero being someone to keep an eye on. Not to jump onto his bandwagon, but definitely a guy to get excited about adding to a PPV undercard, for instance.
i just wanna see him fight any top level fighter. he was a breath of fresh ai to see. no, he's not the most skilled, etc. but he brought it, and fought like a ****in warrior! i was highly entertained, and pleasantly surprised. guy made me a fan
I'd love to see him come and fight in England against John Murray or Kevin Mitchell as he's having problems getting licensed in the US. I'd buy a ticket for either of those fights without a doubt.
I like john Murray but thats a fight he'd get hurt in. Defo be at either of those fights too tho man

if he fights katsidis that boy might as well order a coffin
valero would f**k katsidis or any come forward guy up
call panda crazy but funeka might have the best chance against valero
awkward, lanky and solid power
Which is the precise reason why I said he should stay away from Funeka if he wants keep his “0.”

I think he should go for Guzman so people won’t accuse him of not fighting enough slick boxers if any, and I think most would favor Valero anyway.
He should stay away from Funeka (for now ) because his arm reach and height could offset his strategy
Fight Katsidis for a potential fight of the year bout and then lure David Diaz for a showdown to enhance exposure.
It's important for him to get licensed in Vegas. Demarco is a good fighter and you have to build on that win. Problem is the big names always fight in Vegas so that's where he needs to be. I think Katsidis would be a good step and then fight JMM and if you get past that then you can call for the heads of the super stars. First get the license though.
he could fight murray or mitchell in england.
The logical opponent is Marquez.
ain't gonna happen, marquez probably vacates his titles.
Valero is high risk no money opponent which he would not take, at the end of his career, just wants a big payday before he retires i believe.
