Floyd Mayweather Jr and his camp have come out over the recent weeks and claimed that Floyd is trying to clean up the sport. He wants to implement Olympic style drug testing into professional boxing. In fact, he won’t fight anyone unless they agree to this style of testing. Floyd wants to be the “savior” of boxing. However, there’s only one problem. Floyd is the one that’s taking drugs.
Xylocaine (Lidocaine) is banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. However, fighters can take it up to one week before the fight. In addition to being banned by the NSAC, Xylocaine is also illegal in other states. This is presumably due to the fact that Xylocaine is an anesthetic that’s supposed to be used under the care of a doctor due to the potential serious side effects.

The biggest advantage of Lidocaine for Mayweather is that it helps to numb his hands so he can continue punching without debilitating pain. So it’s a pain killer which allows Mayweather to throw powerful punches more often and longer due to the fact that he can’t feel the normal response of pain. It provides boxers an advantage if they don’t feel any pain in their hands.
* John Davis Sacramento, CA “How can he accuse others when he’s taking something?”
* Amy Williams Folsom, CA “If he’s taking a drug then why’s he accusing others?”
* Lisa Danielson Orangvale, CA “So he takes something illegal but accuses others?”
Yes, he accuses others of taking illegal substances yet he takes something that’s illegal. In short, he’s a hypocrite. When you tell someone to do something and you do the opposite, that makes you a hypocrite.
At best, Xylocaine is controversial and at worse it’s a performance enhancing pain killer. If Mayweather truly wants to clean up Boxing’s drug problems then he needs to lead by example. However, I doubt he really wants to clean up anything. He’s only about himself. Floyd does whatever he can do to get whatever he wants. And right now, he wants Manny to bow down to his demands. If Manny agreed to Floyd’s initial demands, we would not be hearing about Floyd’s desire to clean up the sport.
Geez ...desperation for the Pactards....
So pointing out the truth that Floyd Jr. is a DRUG USER is an act of desperation? That a-side meth has really gotten into your head.
so is it ok for pacquiao to use steroids as long is its not a week before the fight
lol, do you have any evidence? and do steroids legal to take a week before the fight? look at Boxingholic response, he said "Let me make it in plain common sense for you" :wtf:
This thread FAILS. You can use it as long as it not a week before the fight.
"EXAMINER"........HAHAHAHA

seriously flomos dont be stupid !!! Let me make it in plain common sense for you. "if you have a headache or muscle ache do you take pain killer a week before headache/muscle ache?" or you take the pain killer right when you get headache/muscle ache? Imo, this pathetic fraud gayweather is taking xylocaine right before fight!!! End of story
Because they only have the words "week before the fight", they avoid the phrase "prior to the fight"

@COACH_WEBB
What is one week before the fight and prior to the fight ?
And since you seem so knowledgeable, what can you say about this: http://www.secondsout.com/usa-boxing-news/usa-boxing-news/mayweather-to-dictate-drug-testing-terms-for-mosley-fight
You are so right. And I told myself that I would not engage with others about this whole situation with Manny and Floyd. But, when people post these kind of articles without realizing that the truth is right there in the article, then try to argue against it, it bothers me. You are right though.
What bothers me is that Floyd is using a banned substance ON A TECHNICALITY. Just like a crook getting away with a crime simply because of a technicality.
Besides, according to an HBO documentary, floyd is known to take a numbing medicine into his hands JUST PRIOR TO A FIGHT. Not a WEEK BEFORE A FIGHT, not a DAY BEFORE A FIGHT but JUST PRIOR TO A FIGHT.

This fight died in January and people are still arguing about it? Im not sure if I should tell you guys this but Boxing doesnt start and end with the dynamic duo, lol

And only degree this blonker COACH WEBB has is degree of selling heroin to young kids,FLOYD SR. style!
This is your response? I knew better than to even engage in conversation with you in the first place. That is my fault and my fault alone.
Just curious, if indeed they're allowed to take it only up to a week before the fight, then how come Floyd is allowed to take "numbing medicine into their hands JUST PRIOR TO A FIGHT"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gyota5OWBsk
Funny why the american media doesn't hold Floyd into account for him using drugs when he fights.
The man is just as deluded as his most ardent fans when he can't see the hypocrisy of what he's saying and doing.
I gather, only in Nevada do they allow it one week before. In other states, as in Dallas, it is absolutely banned, that`s why Floyd didn`t want to fight there. Taxes was not the reason at all.
What is the standard drug testing policy in Texas?
You can inject steroid in your fat ass you fat pig but not on a week before a fight cuz you would be positive on steroids.
Last week before fight you only take pills which helps you to not get positive on test.
Same thing with XYLOCAINE,if it is illegal then its freakin illegal!

COACH WEBB stop spaming this thread with your un edjucated bullshit.
First finish school then you can talk.
XYLOCAINE is illegal.
END OF STORY.
I finished high school and have a college degree and I'm going back to get my master's this summer but I have YET to hear the word that you used above...un edjucated, its actually UNEDUCATED sir. I hope you indeed finished school.
Read the fine bold print AGAIN...
