Why does everybody keep bringing up the Castillo fight when they KNOW he had a torn rotator cuff. I say he beats Duran. Then the dumbasses say "well look at what Castillo did" He had ONE ARM retards. What did castillo do i the re-match? Get his head boxed off his shoulders.
SO STOP THAT CASTILLO-DURAN-MARGARITO COMPARISON SHIT.
"Repeated mantra among “experts” is that the way to beat Mayweather (who, ironically, has never been beaten) is to pressure him a la Jose Luis Castillo. It is well documented that many feel that Castillo should have won his first fight with Mayweather (though 3 judges saw it differently) and point to this as the blueprint for Mayweather’s fistic Waterloo. More importantly, Hatton’s fans point to the fact that while Mayweather went the distance with Castillo (twice), Hatton crushed him in four.
Mayweather-Castillo I has served as a flashpoint of controversy between Mayweather’s fans and those who insist that the pound-for-pound champ should have taken a loss that night. The outcry following the match prompted Floyd to call for an immediate rematch, which was another unanimous decision, by an even wider margin that before. These facts are not up for dispute.
While fans constantly point to Mayweather-Castillo I as the Rosetta Stone of a Mayweather defeat, few care to admit (or are even aware) that Mayweather fought Castillo with a torn rotator cuff that night and still managed to win a wide-margin unanimous decision.
The question that has not often been asked is this: If Castillo possessed the tools to defeat Mayweather so resoundingly as alleged, why was he not able to summon the same performance in the second match? Further, why was he beaten even more convincingly in the rematch? Indeed it may be that Castillo’s performance in the first fight was impressive precisely because Mayweather was injured and the reason that the effort he turned against a healthy Mayweather seemed nothing more than pedestrian."
Just becuse he won the rematch, that doesnt mean **** to the first fight, these are two seperate fights... so regarding the rematch whippty ****ing dooo pat the kid on his back...
But fight 1, its clear he was given a gift.
I had Castillo in the first fight 114-112. Floyd should get a lot of respect for the giving the man an immediate rematch though. I though Floyd was afraid to lose? Why did he grant an immediate rematch to a guy that a lot of people thought he lost to?
On the contrary, Floyd was happy Castillo gave him a rematch to avenge the loss to Castillo. Floyd was thinking he lost the first fight, but is greatful Castillo gave him a rematch to avenge his only loss.
when you win the first fight so convincinly like Castillo did, and then get robbed, its hard to muster up the same kind of motivation. Whereas Floyd in the 2nd fight had an extra spring in his step and an extra yard because he knew he had a lucky escape in the first fight. Probably thinking he lost but still got the decision he probably felt invincible and that the judges like what he does no matter what.
Castillo didnt do as well in the 2nd fight, because even if Castillo won again, what was to sstop the judges giving the decision to floyd again? With all that against you, Castillo was never going to do as well in the 2nd fight.
Just like Floyd cant muster the energy to fight Pac, because he knows if he beats Pac, Pac is still a higher ATG.
Similar thing.
Someone said end the myth that Castillo-Mayweather 1 was a robbery.
Do you know how many Castillo-Mayweather type fights there has been in history? Literally, thousands.
The fight wa close and could have gone either way. Mayweather got the decision.
They had an immediate rematch to solve the issue and Mayweather won clearly.
That's all there is to it but I assume this same argument is going to be ongoing until the end of time.
Someone should end the myth that Castillo got dominated in the second fight. That fight went much the same as the first, except Mayweather took control of the championship rounds for the clear victory. The first 9 rounds went pretty much exactly the same.
Who cares.. Floyd is the clown of the sports world and he is considered as a fraud by literally everyone in the world so this is irrelevant. His legacy is that tarnished.
Tough to win a decision losing 5 or 6 of the first 6 rounds, to bad the last half of the fight doesn't count for double then maybe it be worth talking about.
Torn rotator cuff sounds like a myth to me. He wasn't saying shit about it before the fight.
Stop with the excuses.
Castillo gave him his first loss. Deal with it.
Floyd never gives rematches, wonder why he did in this fight???
:lol1:
Last time I checked, floyd's undefeated.
Deal with it.
So enough of the Castillo shit. Duran would get his ass outboxed. Just like Castillo did in the second fight.
He still won the first fight IMO.....it wasn't the decision that drew so much criticism it was the scorecards........Floyd won most of the early rds and he did win some late rds........watch rd 11 of the first fight.......it was a clear rd for Mayweather....but the HBO commentary team had their lips on Castillos cock at that stage and were too busy waxying lyrical about Castillo......
No point in this Burner, plenty of people know Floyd was injured...they choose to ignore it though...
floyd would cancel his fight if he has an injury, you heard the marquez fight? it was just one of floyd excuses.

Even though it is against my deepest believes but I have to agree on some things here with Burner *lol*
I personally scored the fight 114-112 for Mayweather but won't argue with somebody who has it the same for Castillo, a draw or whatever... I think he done a good job of going to the body but I personally can remind me of a fight that was competive... the one guy scored to the head and the other the body... that the guy won who scored to the body... that shouldn't be the case but I've never seen a judge that prefers body punches to head punches. Many rounds were close... so it can go either way.
What happened in the fight was always under control. If you look past to May's fight which where at the time at 130... you would know how he fought Mexicans... he stepped up to them... fought with them in the inside... take some shots... give plenty back, box them a little... make them tired and go for the kill... the only difference here was that JL Castillo was one tough muthaaaaaaaaaa... until that time he had never ''really'' lost because somebody was better but was stopped on cuts... he couldn't hurt him... so Castillo stayed in the fight and it was close... May even in the last rounds stood pretty much toe to toe... exchanging body punches and I've never seen him get hurt or anything.
The rematch like mentioned is just prove that Mayweather could beat Castillo and could have beaten him easier the first time around. In both fights it happened what he wanted... the first fight was close he adjusted and Castillo couldn't get him... that just proves that Castillo has not found a way to beat him... he just found a way to have a chance at beating him because Floyd fought him at Castillo's strength the first time around...
If Floyd fought with a torn rotator cuff, why is there no surgical scar now on his shoulder, like Jeff Lacy has? If he truly had a serious injury, it would have required surgery. Since it didn't, I am suspicious that there was not a significant injury. I watched the fight and he threw both hands and he didn't seem impaired, although I did hear him complain about pain. Pain, though, does not necessariy mean he had a torn rotator cuff.
He lost that one. And people are still trying to prop him up with the excuse of "torn rotator cuff," which I feel is mythical.
Torn rotator cuff sounds like a myth to me. He wasn't saying shit about it before the fight.
Well I can understand that you wouldn't show any sign of weakness before the fight and especially not tell your opponent all about your achilles heel.
And I also had Mayweather winning the first fight after watching it recently, which shocked me a bit with this seemingly common notion that Castillo was robbed...
I am not disagreeing with anything that Burner said, as he is right, and people should give floyd credit for going through with this fight. but burner why are u so obsessed with floyd? ur always making threads trying to prove how people wrongly accuse him of certain things. give it up. this thread is good and i agree with you but how can u sit on your comp and write this shit of floyd being wronly accused of shit when you yourself stupidly accused pac of taking steroids, or illegal enhancement drugs? stfu man
just like u want people to give floyd props u need to give props to manny for his accomplishments and stop bitching about every lil thing that he does
Yo dont like my threads dont post in them. I rather make threads about Floyd a BOXER. Then Mangler an internet nerd. Just my 0.02.
