Key Notes-
They have to be a fighter that is a tune up that HBO would put on PPV.
July 19th was the original date. So Floyd found his opponent before that day and signed. Later the fight was moved to September.
So lets hear some names fellas.
I hate to say this really I do but jmm was a good fight from a mayweather perspective.
beat the guy who arguably beat the p4p 1 boxer in the world and who is ranked number 2 in the world
eliminate pacquiaos option of facing this guy by dominating him
make millions of dollarz from an easy tune up fight
and get back on the p4p list
to answer your question TS jmm was right from so many angles
it was bad to us boxing fans though
well said.I agree....

Well said. I agree.
He should've go straight to any top welter, specially Shane who sat back the whole year after beating Margs, this would've been compared to what Leonard did against Hagler in terms of coming back from retirement shit.
If not at least fighting someone like Berto would've been good.
You have to ask yourself how much promotion was really done for DLH-Campas or DLH-Sturm as opposed to the promotion done for Pac-Clottey. I'd also like to see the total purse numbers from those fights in comparison to Pac-Clottey.
What do you mean?
And, I think there promotional for DLH-Sturm was pretty big. I mean it was promoted as Oscar getting a record 6 titles in 6 weight-classes... And, plus if he won he was going to fight Hopkins...
Oh yeah. The top fighter in the sport should be selling more than 500K PPVs vs. a top 5 guy in his division.
But, when Oscar was the top guy there was times when he didn't sell 500k... And, those were not considered flops...
I was really looking forward to the Berto fight to see if Shane still had anything in the tank or if the Margarito win was a fluke, ie aging, one dimensional brawler caught without his concrete gloves.
When I brought up something about a quick tuneup for Shane, who had been training already for the Berto fight, a ton of people blew a headgasket.
I dont think that Margarito was a fluke, but I bet if Mayweather beats Mosley everyone will say it was and look at his previous fights with Cotto and Mayorga as proof that he was a fighter on the way out, not on the way up.
Then after losing to Mayweather, Mosley will most likely end up fighting Pacquiao and if Pacman wins it will be mindblowing and he will be the fighter of the next decade too. Mayweather vs Pacquiao will never happen.
Yeah hed beat him. Pavlik wouldnt lay a glove on him.
Yea exactly... But, I am going to be real if we talking about the Pavlik that just got done KO'ing Taylor. And, somebody brings up Floyd fighting him at 160. I will say whoa that is just too much... I would predict Pavlik to win... But, now I see Floyd winning. Cuz, I think Hopkins ruined Pavlik...
How much do you think that fight is going to do?
About 500k.
It wont be Pacs fault though.
With a stadium like that he shouldve got a better dance partner.
I agree, but some Floyd fans really believe that JMM had nothing to do with those numbers... And, they throw in that JMM did a 100k buys with Casamayor as proof that Floyd did that mili by himself...
Well I can't speak for all Floyd fans, you got your Flomos and Pactards and those guys will say the most ridiculous shit. But then you also got your Mayweather and Pacquiao fans that are rational and don't get caught up in this bullshit mudslinging between both sides.
Well lets be real here... You and I both agree that Floyd easily beats Pavlik right? Or am I alone on this?
Yeah hed beat him. Pavlik wouldnt lay a glove on him.
The 100k is proof that he is not a bigger draw then Floyd.
But, who was making the argument that JMM of all people was a bigger draw then Floyd? The only guy people mentioned of being a bigger draw then Floyd is Pac...

Oh yeah true.
Theyd also say Hopkins took his soul.

Of course I give credit to JMM for that PPV. JMM was the the #2 P4P so obviously he had some recognition. Especially since he was coming off some killer fights against Casa and Diaz. But I think Pac blowing up also helped JMM because he's the guy that gave Pac hell for 23 rounds. So in essence when Pac blew up, JMM gained recognition for what he accomplished against Pac.
Of course we know Mayweather can draw, but you can't just toss anybody in there and expect it to sell. It just doesn't work that way. The casual fan doesn't wanna drop $55 bucks on some no-name hack they ain't ever heard about.

Which is why Pac-Clottey will bomb.
