In my mind its not a question of IF Floyd will get hit by Shane its a matter of WHEN. So my question is, how will Floyd react when he really gets tagged by Shane? can he recover or will he go into a shell, or does he even have the chin to take it?
Also do you guy agree or disagree that this version of Shane is alot better than the version of Oscar that Floyd won a split decision against?
One thing...u can't win a fight running so he can't be running. Some say he is just a great defensive wizard but you have to land some punches to win a fight too.
Don't bother man, pactards are a hopeless cause.
The same way any good defensive fighter reacts when he gets hit, thinks why the punch landed, what mistake he made for it to land, and correct the problem.
good intelligent post. i agree 100%.
he may smile like he usually does as well.
what else but the usual ,run like hell.....

comments like this make me wonder if people have ever seen floyd fight...the reason why he is so dangerous is because he is able to keep his composure after moments like this...he will be hit...and when he is...he won't panic...never has and never will...mosley better watch for the retaliation...watch after he throws a combo and after he throws a hook...and he better not drop his hands or it's pot shot city until he quits or gives up and rides his loss out...
I dont think shane will be able to load up on most of his shots in this fight. It would mean he would have to give up some of his speed. He will need all his speed in this fight. It could get interesting if Mosley is able to clinch Floyd and impose strength. Hitting Floyd with clean shots to the body and head after bully Floyd in the clinch could be Shanes key to winning the fight.

If you watch boxing then you would realise that all boxers gets tagged even Mayweather, He got tagged in so many fights and he alway react the same way most boxer react which is find a way to defend themselves.
Mosley will just bring out the best in Floyd, and will get himself a serious ass whooping !
Mosley will bring out the killer instincts and attacking nature in Floyd......
And Floyd will just start badly outclassing Mosley

Oscar and Mosley were just about unbeatable until they got to 147. The only guy I would have picked against both of them at any weight is Mayweather.
Oscar clearly won the 2nd fight with Mosley. Anybody who says otherwise must have given Mosley every close round plus 2 more he didn't deserve to win.
Shane is better, no matter how you put it.
well Im not a 110% sure of that but I wont argue against it. People forget that Oscar had just killed Mayorga and Shane just went 12 hard rounds with Mayorga before that fight. Again though, if you want to say that Shane is better then I wont fight that because he's a beast and Im a big fan.
However, I think you are missing my point. I wasnt trying to spin it like saying that Oscar is better. I was trying to spin it in terms of Floyd. I think Shane may be the better fighter but its cancled out by the fact that Floyd is probably 5 pounds bigger or more, is now comfortable at WW, the fight will be at WW & not 154, and Floyd isnt giving up nearly 20 pounds in the ring. I think that does legitmatly cancel things out. Its like saying that Shane is clearly way better than Sturm but that doesnt mean that Floyd wouldnt have just as hard of a time or harder if he had to fight Sturm right now at MW.
I disagree with that. Shane really lost that second fight to Oscar. Also when you compare them stylistically, Oscar had a much more adaptable style than Shane. Shane has been out boxed rather easily on a few occasions, Oscar in his prime was damn near impossible to cleanly out box, only way to beat him was to get nasty about it, or rob him.
We are talking about 2007 Oscar vs Mosley Now.

He's going to smile. It's obvious Floyd doesn't like getting hit or he is so confident he won't get hit he smiles when you tag him. Your choice which one you choose. He does that shit everytime he is hit clean or on the ropes, maybe to try and play off he isn't hurt, who knows.
Floyd has a very good chin. Only seen him semi-buzzed once in 40 fights. He's been hit, just not recently. Oscar cracked him with a really good shot that did nothing. Zab tagged Mayweather due to his speed, but Zab gets to EVERYBODY. He flat out lit Cotto up early.
I've seen Castillo hit Mayweather more than anyone and Mayweather never wilted or gave in. In fact I believe it was the 10th or 11th round, Mayweather could not outbox him so he had to fight in the pocket and was doing quite well. He did everything he could to win that fight considering his injury. Mayweather is one of the toughest boxers out there with a great chin. A fighter can only hurt himself believing the opposite. Hatton thought he could out muscle Mayweather and Mayweather was the one who beat him at his own game.
Floyd has fought 40 times, what can Shane do any different?? Shane can't handle speed and slick counterpunchers either. He has more to worry about than Floyd.
He's probably better than Oscar but you have to remember that back then Floyd was basically a 140 pounder fighting at WW and he fought Oscar at 154 while giving up nearly 20 pounds in the ring, so that cancles out to me how much better Shane is than Oscar.
Shane is better, no matter how you put it.
Id like to point out, before my short rant, that I am not a Mayweather mafioso. Just a huge fan of the sport of boxing.
The reason Floyd Mayweather is a great fighter and has been so successful, for so long, in so many divisions and against so many fighters isnt just because of his skills. Obviously the guy is one of the all time great defensive fighters, but it takes a lot more than being a gifted athlete with good training to become a great fighter. Anybody in the know will tell you that Floyd trains like a MANIAC, and that his sparring sessions are amongst the most brutal in the sport. Floyd generally looks for tanks and killers as partners and lets them fight him to the fullest of their potential. Yeah he goes by the name Pretty Boy, and is a bit of a deva in negotiations, but Floyd Mayweather is one of the toughest SOBs in the entire sport, talent aside.
