Actually if Mosley beats Mayweather that would set up a potential super-fight with Pacquiao, if he beat Mayweather he'd probably be the most popular boxer in the US and the public would pay to see him beat Pacquiao. No he won't, theres a rematch clause in case floyd loses.

Nothing Mayweather does will be good enough. He beats Shane, he goes on to school Pac later this year, people are still gonna be hating. Once he retires and stays retired for a few years people will start to respect him in retrospect.

The hating and the excuses have already begun. They began as soon as it was announced that the deal had been completed. Before that, they were saying that Mayweather would back out of the fight. Now Mosley is old and rusty. They fail to mention that Mayweather has fought once since 2007 and the fact that Mosley turned the fight down in 1999 and 2006 when he was younger and more skilled. It doesn't matter. Mayweather will beat Mosley and then KO Pacquaio if he has enough guts to get in the ring with Mayweather. After that, they will say that Pac was too small for 147, was distracted by the election or was weakened by the blood test or some other bullshit excuse.
