Carlos Baldomir wasn't a draw whatsoever, but he got a fight with Floyd...because Baldomir was the champ at the time (well...one of them). Mosley is currently the recognized WW champ, is the #1 WW in the world, has fought fighters at WW Floyd's never faced, and adding the rivalry both Mosley and Floyd have had for the last 10 years, I think HBO and GBP will do fine promoting this fight with both making good money.
Floyd will prob get 65 to Mosley's 35. I think that's fair.
not one of them. THE champ.
judah held the WBC, IBF, WBA and Ring Mag titles when baldomir beat him. baldomir couldnt afford the sanctioning fees so he vacated all but the WBC, but he was the only WW champ at that time none the less.
Mosley should for sure get upside, hell Floyd got upside with Oscar and Clottey is getting upside with Manny.
Also keep in mind one of the arguments Floyd makes about people always getting their biggest paydays against him, if he is generous with Mosley he can continue on with that.
I personally think like 33-67 or 34-66 is fair that is getting twice as much, against someone like Mosley that looks good and the number should be pretty high for Shane but to kill the fight over 6 or 7 points whould be kind of dumb since what he would get against a lesser guy would be less then what he would make letting Shane have those percentage points.
Percentage points don't buy you Bentley's, yatchs and G-5's~
I think hes a name. A popular boxer. But when you go the numnbers thy dont lie.
His last sucessful PPV was Cotto-Mosley 2 years ago and that was in MSG and a PRO Cotto crowd.

Maybe the reason people think Shane should get 40% is because he is the champion and Mayweather is the challenger?
I dunno? Just thining out loud here....
Retards.
Nate would take 20%, but no one would be interested to see Floyd fight him. Nate beat Juan Diaz, that's about all he has going for him.
nate fought alot of tough guys thru his career though, undisputed LW champ not long ago so he has a fair share going for him. its a good fight, then again im a fan of campbell so that might be why id like to see it.
ofcourse mosley is better though, i think 40% is fair. floyd no doubt deserves the majority of the $$$, but with what mosley brings to the table and just all that he has done for the sport he deserves to get a proper payday. even HBO is treating this guy like trash even though hes a modern day legend and one of the very few true throwbacks in the sport today. hes given so much to boxing he should get some back.
Mosley should take the flat rate of about 3-4m or take 25-30%. I personally don't beleive he deserves a % based on the revenue he generates.
Floyd giving him 40% is like looking out for shane. And i don't think he too fond of mosley!
One, even though Pacquaio is the p4p #1, Mosley is the man at Welter courtesy of demolishing Margarito recently to go along with his many past accolades in the division, two, he's the best name/skill value opponent available other than Pac, and three, Floyd's painted himself into a corner. Pac moved on after trying to make a fight with Floyd to easily make a fight with Clottey, a top five Welterweight. If Floyd drops Mosley, it only adds fuel to the fire that Floyd ducks top opposition, and after the Pac letdown, having another letdown would be very damaging to him. 60-40 is a fair deal with this in mind.
not when u talking multi millions. Mosley should be happy with the flat rate. He doesn't generate enough interest for a %
Thats my whole point of this thread.
i believe that being the recognized welterweight champion makes you deserving of a fair share of any money generated.

60-40 is good split in favor of floyd. mosley is very smart he knows floyd has no where to go but to fight him if the fight didn't get made people will blame floyd and will be accuse again as a ducker or coward.t
This thread is rubbish. What the threadstarter is saying is that it's ok for Floyd's greed to kill yet another big fight that fans have been wanting to see for a long time now. I will never understand why any "fan" cares about the monies involved in these fights, since we as spectators aren't getting our pockets greased. Shane is the more or less WW world champion right now. He is Floyd's only serious option without Pac. What's wrong with Shane taking 40%? Hell, if he asked for a 50-50 deal, are we to believe that would be unfair to Floyd? Bollocks. :nonono:
it should be 70-30 floyd, alot of casual boxing fans dont rate a 38year old man with 5 losses too much.i disagree but thats just the way it is.mosley should accept it if thats the deal
Nate Campbell would gladly take 35%
Nate would take 5% and it would still be far beyond his biggest payday~. It would be similar to making a deal with Clottey~
Naw. I can guarantee this. If Shane asks for 40% The fight wont happen.
When was his last sucessful PPV? When he was the one people came to see?
Ok look at it this way, Who is Mayweather going to fight next that would make people sit up and take notice??? If Mosley gets $6-8 million for a Mayweather fight then he deserves it.
