1. His family and team live in Las Vegas. It makes sense for him to stay in Vegas for the whole training camp and fight.
2. He doesn't have to pay Vegas taxes for his income.
3. Vegas is the biggest stage in boxing.
NY income tax alone takes nearly 20 percent of the fighters purse. You know floyd doesn't want to give that up. you can easily go from making 25 million to 20 million just for the sake of fighting in NY when you can make that money and keep more in Nevada. Besides NY fights are too early on the west coast.
It's because of taxes morons!
I think you are correct with this. Nevada doesn't take income tax, and its the biggest place for fights as others have said. Why would he want to fight anywhere else?
He didn't at first, but when he "made it" and became a bigger name in the sport, he's fought there exclusively since 2006.
The big fights are in Vegas. Smaller venue? The casinos still can afford the largest site fees thanks in large part to degenerate gamblers.
It's where Floyd lives, so if the fight is ever close he'll get the home town decision.......I thought everyone knew this
kidding of course, the most money is made in Vegas- drunk, rich people ready to throw down some cash
Nevada is the only state that allows xylocaine use. everywhere else, its illegal.
we all know floyd cant fight without his PEDs.
Its banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Las Vegas is the place. Its the #1 boxing place and it will pretty much offer the most money for every major fight. NY is overrated. The only fights that really happened in NY now is PR fights. No one else really fights there. Its just like Tito, Cotto, and now Juanama. I think Khan may make it his new home though. No one fights in LA either except LA guys or Mexicans
