I'm not sure. If he doesn't fight Shane, or Pacquiao, I will say yes. In the past Floyd took on the best he could, Corrales, Castillo, Judah, all when they were some of the top P4P guys in the game. I don't know if he wants to really fight the best anymore, or if he just wants to fight the guy who gives him the most money and won't threaten his 0. If Floyd takes Pac and Shane on he will answer this question. If he doesn't fight either, he will also answer this question. What do you think. Has Floyd become the Welterweight Joe Calzaghe?
Note: Floyd could fight no one but Bobby Pacquiao only from now til he retires and he'd still be a greater fighter than Calzaghe, I just mean in the last few years is he fighting with Calzaghe-like intentions(Protecting that donut in the loss column)
First off.
Floyd tried to Shane at 135 Pounds a while back. Shane declined and Movd up. So Floyd moved up right behind him and Shane declined Flooyd again in 2006. Thats Shanes fault not Floyds.
Cotto and Maragrito are Top Rank fighters. Those fights were never going to happen. Floyd and ArumDONT get along. They couldnt come together for 100 Million. What makes you think they could come together for 8 Million?
Please lets put the Pac stuff in perpesctive. Oscar hasnt made WW in over 10 yers and came in the ring DRAINED.
Cotto was forced to weigh 145 Pounds after Pac fought Oscar at 147. Why??
Now hes fighting Clottey a guy who just LOST to Cotto. Clottey is a guy famous for losing every big fight.
Ricky Hatton wasnt the same fighter after Mayweather. Een Freddie Roach said that. So lets not get crazy.
In order to fight these people. You have to work out the contracts.
The Floyd-Pac didnt happen. Thats not Floyds fault. Arum admitedd it was his FAULT.
Like I said hes trying to fight Mosley. Why dont you wait to see what happens first. Floyd beating Shane is better then any WW win Pac has.
i agree with some of what you said and i will wait to see what happens with shane, but a win against shane is not better than a win against cotto, since cotto clearly beat mosley. and yes cotto did weigh 145 but it didn't affect him, he himself has said nothing about the weight, he had to lose one more pound for weigh in than he normally does, freddie just wanted a tiny bit of an edge because that was manny's first real WW fight. no one in a million years would have ever thought manny would be fighting cotto a couple years back. people thought he was too small for lightweight. and clottey is very good, and i think would beat mosley, and i have seen some floyd fans even say that. cotto manned up and one the last couple rounds against him and yes clottey didnt do enough but still. he is a very tough opponent. the only thing that makes a floyd over mosley win bigger is because mosley has a bigger name, and i will give some props to floyd if he takes the fight.
I can see your point but the last guy he fought was the p4p #2. Before that he fought an 43-0 champion who only ever lost to the very top p4p fighters and before that he fought Oscar at 154, making his debut there and capturing the title.
I honestly don't see what's so easy about that. Actually only 2 fighters were able to beat both Marquez, Hoya and Hatton and Pacquiao did draw with Marquez and SD him the second time around.
Of course Floyd is a businessman (who wouldn't be at 40-0?) and is in there for the money. The difference between him and most of the other guys is that Floyd is HONEST about it.
I still want him to fight Shane but I don't really care. At 32-33 years of age, Floyd's best years are already behind him and he did pretty well, now it's about the finish and people will remember best what happens last (think Roy Jones everyone)
dude the fight against marquez means nothing, he made him come up to 144 and didn't even bother making the catch weight, that was one of the most gutless things i have seen in boxing. and he fought hatton at WW, hatton's whole style is to bully and smother the guys at 140 because he is bigger than them. and the fact it took floyd that long to KO him is somewhat ridiculous. I hate floyd because of his style, of running and only counter punching so i am a bit biased but he is not willing to take any chances or even put on an exciting show for his fans. i will give him props for his oscar win but once again that fight was very boring.
in talks isn't enough, he needs to actually fight them. he should have fought shane, cotto, margarito, a couple years ago. judah, baldomir, hatton, and marquez are his notable WW fights. 2 of which aren't WW's. cotto fought judah, mosley, margarito, clottey, and pac. besides judah , all are much better opponents. pacquiao, moved up 12 pounds to fight de la hoya at 147, and yes he was weight drained but pac did move up from lightweight. than he fought ricky at his best weight. and cotto, only making him shave a pound, and cotto wasn't weight drained and now a very tough clottey. if pac beats clottey, he will already have a better WW resume than floyd. floyd's resume should be much better.

Bro what was the point of this thread?
He was in talks wit Pac for weeks who and now right after hes in talks with Mosley.
I mean how is he protecting his zero by trying to fight Pc and Shane.

doing the polls now will have a different result than when he decides to fight mosley. Right now, he is considered protecting his almighty zero loss record over anything else. If he fights Mosley, opinions may change somewhat, but not entirely, because we really don't know how Mosley will fight now, being 38 years old and not having a fight for year and counting.

How sure are u?? Hes just bluffing coz the spotlight was on his and he no choice but to go with it. What makes u think he uttered that legacy don pay bills?? now explain
Judging solely on how he talks about his zero loss record I'd say he cares more about that, but who knows he might fight mosley them PAC then cotto at 154!!? ;)

But that's what all it is, just talks! Floyd never really wanted to fight!
If he really wanted to fight, then that Pac fight would have been a done deal already. Floyd is not in a position to make demands.
Now if he really wanted to fight shane, then why not announce now he will fight shane without any conditions for $8million?
You can give all the reasons here why he will not say or do it but the main and only realy one reason is that FLOYD IS A FRAUD! HE AIN'T FIGHTING ANY ELITES AT ALL!
I think it's more about money than anything else. If floyd loses his 0, he loses his hype and gloss, which MAY(or may not) cause him to lose his mega million dollar paydays.
100 percent agree, if he cared about his legacy more, he could have tried to clean out a stacked WW division. Hell, he was gonna fight de la hoya for a 2nd time, and the first fight was no good. I personally think boxing went way down hill when he was on top. sure people watched him but that's why alot of guys i know think boxing isn't great , because he was the name in all the big hyped fights and he really was pretty damn boring to watch. that is why i love pac so much, steroids or not, the guy is great for the sport, people need to know that there are some fighters that care about KO there opponent and giving the fans a great fight to watch.

undefeated record can make you an ATG... the problem is that those who were defeated previously are performing much better than him, making his loss-less record being questioned

ATG lists are all opinionated...I think you could stick Floyd in towards the end of an ATG Top 50 list...
Floyd is a HOFer already...its clear his biggest interest is money at this point...

what does an ATG fighter mean???
