Yuriorkis gamboa and Edwin Valero are both crazy knockout punchers. Both of them had the majority of their fights in or around 130, but now yuri went down in weight and is fighting at 122 - 126 and Valero went up and is fighting at 135.
I don't know, but someone's getting ktfo.

As gifted a boxer as he is I still don't like the odds of Gamboa jumping two divisions up and challenging the hardest puncher in the sport especially when your own set of whiskers are really shaky. That right there is a major recipe for disaster. Despite fighting like a caveman and brute at 130-135, Valero has not visited the canvas six times like Gamboa.
Gamboa will be waking up next week wondering which car hit him when all is said and done.
Gamboa is a FW and Valero is now a full sized LW. Valero would decapitate him.
Its funny how this poll is panning out, Gamboa is fast and flashy but he wouldnt have much for Valero, it would be a short shootout with Gamboa going down.
Damn I never thought of this match-up, but this fight would be a classic for however long it lasted. Valero has the edge in power, and Gamboa has the edge in speed, but they both excel in those categories. I question both guys chin and defense... Gamboa's skills far surpass Valero though, so I think that would likely get him the KO within 5 rounds. I got to play this shit on Fight Night later...
Gamboa by KO. Valero has too many openings and Gamboa is one of the most accurate punchers in boxing. Also Gamboa has fought a few times at 130 and is actually a huge FW.

i've never been impressed with valero, as much as i would like to root for a ko artist, not a guy who's fought mostly against limited opposition, only two guys i think were credible that he ko'd.
gamboa ko's valero.
Gamboa's competition is far worse than Valero's and his chin is very shaky. Valero should be able to stretch him with the first good shot he lands at 135.
Until Gamboa proves that he can destroy good opponents north of 130 this is the only reasonable analysis.
valero is too wide and predictable for gamboa, gamboa would tee off on him. if valero can take it to deep waters in a grueling fight, he's got natural power, so his power will stay with him the whole fight, there i would give him a punchers chance. i think valero would be knocked down and around if he tried to stand and trade or punch with gamboa.

gamboa ko's valero.
I go with Gamboa via 1st or 2nd rd KO. Valero's chin isn't that sturdy and Gamboa is so quick, Valero won't know what hit him. Plus Valero's defense blows. It won't be hard for Gamboa to sink a lighting shot in on him.
Valero with relative ease. If nobodies managed to land on Gamboa and deck him, a pitterpat punch from Valero would render him unconscious for days. :439:
I have to agree that Valero has a puncher's chance but when I saw him fight LIVE against Pituala, the man seemed super slow with the punches..like Margarito speed..
think Gamboa would KO him within 6 rounds
