I say Gamboa beats Lopez..
Why, well, he's got excellent speed and power.. That will be the key.. Lopez was getting hit a lot by Lucero (?). I just see Gamboa using effective aggression to win the fight..
I can Gamboa getting knocked down, but i see lopez getting KO'ed.
he had to in order to get in. LUEVANO had a much longer reach so he could have fought from the outside all night. Another thing is that Luevano doesn't have any pop in him so Juanma wasn't scared of getting hit. Against Gamboa the reach advantage would go for Juanma who happens to be a good counterpuncher so u can't compare how a fight vs gamboa would be looking at how he fought last night
Gamboa, but I would like to see this in another time. I want to see Gamboa get a title first. These two have what it takes to be ATGs so why ruin a career putting them against each other now

good pointers there. Gamboa is just a beast even though some people question his chin which hasn't given him much problems lately:boxing:
his chin has been more of a balance thing, i haven't seen him hurt, just flash knock downs, like aaron pryor, he went down and popped back up like a spring. same with gamboa, i think that he can take a punch, at least until he does the chicken dance.
Gamboa TKO in 7 or less. Watching the card last night, Gamboa would be too fast for Lopez in hand and foot speed. Lopez is more disciplined and uses a wide variety of puches, so if he can survive the early onslaught he may be able to survive to the later rounds. I just don't see it happening. They are likely the two hardest punchers at featherweight, so there is the potential of Lopez catching Gamboa with something. But if you look at all of Gamboa's knockdowns they were from having lousy footwork and getting offbalanced rather than from him being hurt by a punch. Even though Lopez could hurt him, if I had to guess which guy would get caught first I'd say Lopez because of the speed difference. Arum, who originally said the fight was on for the summer has scrapped those plans, most likely because Gamboa would crush Lopez if they fought.

i think gamboa is too sharp, too fast, accurate, and can hit hard, if he can take what lopez has to throw at him, then gamboa beats lopez.....
lopez gets hit too easy with a slick, tight puncher.
