Arum ain't putting Lopez in with Gamboa

Gamboa is a beast!!! Its going to be a long way till we see this two on the square circle.

Don't be foolish. He's keeping his biggest fighters away from their biggest fights. He took Pacquiao out of a Mayweather fight. He took Pavlik out of a Williams fight. There's no way he's risking Lopez against Gamboa after what we saw tonight. Signing with Bob Arum at this point is basically saying, "PROTECT ME!" because that's all Bob is doing lately. same with Frank Warren..........

Lopez might be one of the five most overrated fighters in all of boxing. He is not special in any way. Judging from your post history, it appears anyone who is not of African decent is overrated.

Im thinking Gamboa will have a more broader fanbase then JuanMa. Becasue of his style and skill. He has fans all over he USA. I think JuanMas fans will be more PR based, NY, NJ, type thing. He builds those fanbases up by keeping Lopez and Gamboa active. Arum makes MILLIONS if this happens at the right time. I agree to a point but I also depends on what styles they match them up with... Juanma can look sensational with the right style... Lets not forget the type of hype he had when he KO'd Ponce de Leon in 1 round... Everybody was amazed... And, then he had 2 title defenses that ended in round 1 and everybody was talking about Tito level... But, then they start matching him up with more difficult styles so he has not look sensational... But, if you match Juanma with IBF 126 champ Cristobal Cruz I think he would look like a P4P level fighter... Where he could get a broader fan base. I just think is the match ups... Is like if you match Gamboa with CC... Gamboa would win but size and awkwardness might make it into an ugly fight with a lot of clinching and stuff like that... I can see Gamboa getting in there with a Elio Rojas or Chris John type of style and not look sensational... I think Gamboa would win but not look as dynamic as he did against Mtwaga...

I am not a boricua and Tito became my favorite fighter back in 1993 when I saw him KO Blocker in San Diego... Tyson had a huge fanbase... Pac right now is my favorite active fighter and I am not Pinoy... So if Gamboa keep having this kind of victories where millions are watching then yes he will have a huge fan base and will be able to bring fans from anywhere... This is exactly what I was saying. Im black in Michigan and some of my favorites right now are Rigondeaux, Gamboa, Hasegawa, and Alvarez. Im black: Gamboa and Rigondeaux are Cuban. Hasegawa is Japanese. Alvarez is mexican. You have to be of the same ethnicity to be a fan of a fighter? I don't know, maybe thats just a Puerto Rican thing. But I happen to like fighters from all over, Gamboa and Juanma being two of them. I think Gamboa has the potential to reach a Manny Pac type of following. His style is sick. He will have fans from all over.

Both fighter are Top rank fighters so the fight would happen, I think Arum still waiting to see if Gamboa is ready to step up to Juanma and with his performance tonight we might get to see him ready to challenge Juanma. Agreed ... And, it isn't a coincidence that they were both on the same card either. Arum is enjoying this Top rank fighter vs Top Rank fighter thing he has going. No negotiations, no conflict, no outside influence, no excessive purse splits and he's getting crazy paid without really sharing the wealth. They will fight .... Count on it, its just a matter of time.
