One thing Ive seen on here and other websites alot is people talking about Mosley's inactivity. Alot of it is just hate and not wanting to give Floyd credit but some of it is genuine. One thing that I was just thinking about the other day though is that Shane may have been inactive but he wasnt totally out the loop like other fighters have been. A ton of people say that they would have liked to seen him get one more fight before he fought Floyd but my thing is that with Berto, he basically did everything but fight. I mean, its not like Berto canceled a long time ago. Shane still went through a rigorus nearly 2 and a half month camp, did a ton of sparring, game planning, and so on. I mean if JMM wouldve backed out on Floyd very late, I still think that camp alone and the sparring wouldve knocked a ton of the rust off of Floyd.
Even if you say that its still not the same as fighting, its still alot better than him doing nothing and to me its not really necessary how some say that they still shouldve put him in with a bum on the 30th. After that camp and the sparring, he wouldve ran through a bum. It wouldve been like a sparring session and wouldnt have meant nothing. Thats why I think those who fear Mosley's inactivity level should still feel confident because he basically just had a fight without having one which may actually be even better because he didnt take any real punishment
Yeah,DLT,I was thinking about that too!!They say Mosley is a gym rat, plus he's got Brother Naazim watching his back,he'll be ready!!I know ya'll floyd fans don't wanna hear this, but if floyd wins,it isn't gonna be easy!!I still think Mosley is a bit more than what floyd is used too!!
I can't use that jmm fight b/c I'm sure that wieght affectef him. He just looked super slow. On one hand I say he shouldve slaughter jmm but on the other I say he needed the full 12 work out.
imo the shane issue is kind of like a fighter going through his whole training & going get a round 1 ko & moving on to the next fight. If that makes since
yall need to be worried about floyd. He took almost to years off & had a glarified sparring match with a LW. People say he needed to knock the rust off but do you think it's enough.
Thats what I always say. His name popped so much even in retirment that people dont realize how inactive he has really been. By time the fight gets here he will have had only 1 fight in 2 and a half years and like you said, most people think it was a sparring match. or you could say that he's had only 2 fights in 3 years. Then add that to the fact that Shane is just so much more bigger, stronger, and physical than JMM that it could be a shock to Floyd's system. The good thing though is that I think Floyd has finally filled into his WW frame so I think he can handle himself better. Then when I rewatch the Margarito & JMM fights, I come away getting more confident for Floyd every time. Now I dont think the rust or size will be a super factor. Im moreso worried about Richardson coming up with a beast game plan but I think Shane punches too wide while Floyd has mastered his D against righties. I also now think after rewatching there last fights that Floyd is faster and will just be a hard matchup for Shane
