So according to another news site the WBA has ordered a bout between Chagaev and Meehan for the WBA interim title. The winner of which will face the Haye-Ruiz winner.
Plus i'm fairly certain that Valuev gets a rematch and i wouldn't be suprised to see Malik Scott or some other bullshit King fighter to get a shot.
That should keep Haye busy ensuring that he doesn't have to face the divisions best, the Klitschko's.
Meehan won mandatory status back in 2007 (!!lol) by beating Williamson. King takes such good care of his fighters lol
Any thoughts......
Tomasz Adamek. Everyone take notice of this guy; he's a former cw champion who's moved up to hw and he actually likes to fight and fights relativley frequently for a high profile fighter. This guy is going to breath some life into the hw division and provide some very entertaining fights..:boxing:
It makes me laugh how Amir Khan was being called a fraud, pussy, and bum because of rumours circulating that he was going to drop his belt rather than face a mandatory. Now people are calling David Haye out because he may or may not fight his mandatories.
Boxing fans are the worst fans in all sports.
Well, since King & Universum have been slow to make this fight between Chagaev and Meehan, he probably will have lots of time for another fight first.
But it's high time Ruiz-Haye was signed and scheduled. Both boxers have fought infrequently the past two years - no sense wasting more time.
It seems like the cogs in the hw division move exceedingly slow. These high profile heavyweights should be fighting at least 3 times per year; once per year is just not enough and just hurts the sport...
Haye is not dropping that belt unless the Wlad gives him a REGULAR contract.
And no one can blame him for it. Him keeping that belt and putting defenses on it meanshes establishing his name in the divsion.
This is a perfect excuse for David Haye to continue fighting bums whilst avoid the two best fighters in his division. When is he going to man up and fight Wlad or Vitali?
This is an excuse, but even if Haye wanted the Klitchsckos, the WBA wouldn't allow it. Most top level fighters who want the best fights are willing to give up their belt for bigger and better fights (Clottey, Margarito, Hatton, Dawson, Malignaggi, Williams and many others have done so recent memory.) So if the WBA won't allow a unification and if Haye doesn't give up the belt and keeps fighting bums, then his excuse is a rather weak one.
Some people really believe Haye wants the best?
I'm of the opinon, from the start, that Haye took the WBA route and King affiliation exactly for this reason. He can now fight these b.s. fights (which is what he wants) while publicly claiming that he wants to fight a Klitschko, citing "politics" as the road block.
It's a ducking ploy imo.
We shall see. I wont accept any more excuses from Haye after the Ruiz fight. He should drop the belt or pay the winner step aside money to fight one of the Klits.
I could understand why he pulled out the last time. He was handcuffed by the contract and with Setanta going under, he was getting paid relatively little money to fight the two best HWs in the world.
Too bad for Haye. For some fukked up reason, the WBA Heavyweight picture will always revolve around John Ruiz, Valuev, and Chagaev, no matter how badly they get owned by another fighter. And why the hell is there a Super Champ, World Champ, and 1 or 2 interims per weight class. I understand unifying the WBA with another belt elevates a fighter to "Super Champ", but why is Mosley considered a super champ?
Reminds me of the IBF 140 lb. picture. They seem to have the same 2 or 3 African fighters as mandatories for the last 3 years now. The WBC and WBO are corrupt in their own right, but the IBF and WBA should be banned. If I was a boxer with a good name that didn't need a paper belt, I would throw the WBA and IBF belts away in the same way Riddick Bowe threw the WBC belt in the trash.
Maidana wasn't given the WBA belt, he beat Ortiz for it.
What I meant was he never should have been in the position to win that belt in the first place, it wasn't like Kotelnik had a long layoff or anything.
Peter is fighting Nagy (guy who just beat Maskaev) for IBF eliminator. Nagy getting this shot is b.s.
In my opinion it's a easy set up for Peter since him and Meehan (also in an eliminator suprise suprise) are th only viable Don King heavies. Without them King has nothign in the HW division, it's a last ditch effort.
Aside from whatever affiliation he has with Haye (for 3 fights i believe)
Peter is with main event & don king has nothing to do with peter.king has control over the WBA rankings & that's it.
the way politics are these days,I believe you must make a name for yourself before contending...anyone who says ruiz isn't deserving of at least a top ranking or at least an eliminator fight is narrow minded....ruiz has fought in 11 title fights & deserves respect like him or hate him.ruiz may be boring but he NEVER ducked anyone.Tyson & lewis' both turned down fights with him.some say for money & some say the risk factor...let's face it people the only reason vitali got a title fight after the lennox fight was because lennox vacated his title instead of fighting ruiz...he retired instead of fighting Byrd or ruiz.lennox never ducked them but chose to retire because neither fight was lucrative.
it should be chagaev vs peter or chagaev vs boytsov or peter vs boytsov...peter gets a mulligan from me being a former world champ who fought both klitschkos & chambers(he gave himself no chance weighing 270)& beat toney twice(not easy to do & I think toney won the first fight).I give chagaev a little credit beating valuev & ruiz but injuries & motivation have been problems for him the last few years...there are good fights on the rise in the division...we must remain patient because of will sort itself out.

So mandatories is ok if its a fighter people like, but not if it isnt?
That's not what I meant, what I'm saying basically is that mandatory rankings should be better. Salita never should have been the WBA's number 1 contender and the fight with Khan proved that, it was another mis-mandatory. Sometimes the sanctioning organizations get it right, but it doesn't happen very often, Maidana is a good mandatory challenger but he never should have been given the WBA interim title or whatever he holds and Khan shouldn't be forced to fight 2 mandatories in a row just because the sanctioning body wants him to.
I don't care what anyone says...as far as I'm concerned meehan is a dud & chagaev is so overrated it's embarrassing! Chagaev looked good vs valuev & ok vs ruiz.by no means are either of these guys world beaters.chagaev is living off a fight with valuev...meehan is living off a good fight with brewster & if you get a title shot beating williamson 3 years ago it proves how corrupt don king is...no disrespect for williamson because he's a decent b-class fighter.
If Haye beats Ruiz and Klitschko beats Chambers **** anyone else Klitschko-Haye
He shouldnt really be forced to take 2 mandos in a row. If so, just pay some step-aside money.
