Where in the ATG list?
He retires at age 34 with a 42-0 record through 5 weight classes. Do you rank him in the top 25 or what?
Side note: I have a feeling he won't retire without fighting Khan or Bradley or maybe even both after fighting Mosley and Pacquiao.
I like how the thread starter uses two imaginary fights that havent even been signed yet to show off the greatness of Floyd Mayweather.
Well that's one down and one to go.
I see we are playing Fantasy Floyd again kev.
Where will you rank Fraud jr. when he cures cancer, aids, & the middle east?
I would be man enough to say top 5.
Can you just answer the question?
I took this list from a respected member of another site. In bold are the fighters I think should rank ahead of Floyd even if he beat Pac and Shane. One I think are aruable have an asterisk next to their names.

I would place Ali and Leonard in the top 10 but other than that, it's a solid list and I can't argue with it.
Do you rank Chavez over Duran?
No, its my opinion Duran beat the better fighters and had the better career. That isn't taking anything away fro JCC who was also great, its just the way I see it.

Wanna bet my 1k to your 1k (if not more of yours since you're so confident and I'm new so my points are low =d) that Floyd beats Pacquiao if they fight?
I have Floyd over Pacquiao/Mosley too.
You mean where should Pacquiao rank if he beats Clottey and Mayweather? those are the fights that we will see this year.
Yeah, that's what I meant....
Highly.
I dunno, though. There's been so many great fighters and I don't even know enough about even a fraction of them to really judge.
But, if he does manage to beat both it will be a very impressive feat.

Pacquiao gains a lot more ground with a win over Floyd than Floyd does with a win over Pac.

If Floyd beat both of them I'd probably put him between 20 and 30 somewhere. People forget there are guys in history who have simply fought more and beat a wider scope of great fighters. They've also dominated bentire divisions rather than certain fighters. Beating the best is great. Beating everybody is greater.
Where should we rank Pac if he beats Mosley, Clottey, Mayweather, and Foreman before retiring

Mosley is 38. Floyd will be 33. Floyd has fought 12 rounds since December 2007.
Im proud of Floyd for taking the fight and have no criticism of the fight itself, but Mayweather is going to embarrass Mosley and its not going to help him in ATG standings. Calzaghe was 36 and gets no credit for a win over a 39yr old Roy Jones same will go for Floyd. Mosley hasnt beaten an elite fighter since 2003 over DLH.
this belongs in the fantasy forum
Your mom belongs in the fantasy forum.
This is not a fantasy fight, Mosley-Mayweather are going to fight in a few months. How is that fantasy? you know what is fantasy SRL-Mayweather, Duran-Pacquiao, Mosley-Robinson because those fights will never happen and have no chance of happening. Mayweather-Mosley/Pacquiao may happen this year and one is already underway. Learn wtf is fantasy.
He's going to have to fight someone he's not favored to beat to get the respect his talent deserves. Fighting a 39yr old Mosley who's been off for a year and a half isn't going to catapult him forward on the ATG lists. He will get more respect if its a tough fight with Pacquiao than he will if he easily outboxes him. If he makes it look easy they will say Pac was too small for him and a great big man beats a great little man everytime.
1 to 2 threads like this should be enough. You check all the threads here. There are almost 100 of them Floyd beating this and that in fantasy fights. I know he's great but we don't want fantasy fight. We want real fights! Now Shane is ready to fight him but we haven't heard yet if they signed already the fight or any words from his mouth stating that this is his chance to prove his greatness and he's not avoiding the welterweights. So far we didn't heard anything from him yet.
Agreed if Floyd can Sabotage a fight worth 40 Million then a smart person would wait till they actually get in the ring with each other before you start mouthing off about Floyd being an all time great.
