All but hardcore Floyd fans feel that floyd needs to do more to seal his legacy. His years spent not fighting top welterweights while campaigning in the welterweight division has negatively affected his image. The pre-welter floyd would haven't been questioned in my opinion, but after moving up and claiming to be the best, but not proving it, he's drawn attention to himself and in his own way negatively effected his legacy, but increased his ppv demand.
What i wonder, if Floyd fights and beats shane, and then fights and beats manny.... Is that enough? Will he still be questioned or will the critics be satisfied with that?
Does he then have to go on and beat paul williams? someone else?
What do you think?

I can feel you but wasn't Hoya a big enough challenge? How about Hatton? Was Hatton really a smaller man? So why did he perform so much better (physically speaking) vs Floyd? He was pushing Floyd back and even made Floyd out of balance a couple times. Imo the only time ever Floyd had a physical advantage over an opponent was in Marquez but none of us expected Floyd, coming out of retirement, vs the p4p #2 to deliver that big of a performance. Paul Williams? No one wants to fight Paul, why should Floyd of all people? Mosley ducked him, Pacquiao doesn't even mention his name (yuri is ok though) but Floyd, after 5 weight classes championship tittles in all of them, still has to "prove himself". I think he needs to beat Pacquiao like he needed to beat Hoya but Williams? Then who? Martinez too? Those are not welterweighs...
Hatton was done, Oscar was drained AND old.
Pac beat a better JMM at his true weight class.
Pretty simple.
Historians wont see that hatton was done im afraid. Because you are as good as your last fight and Hatton was pretty damn good. Pac made DLH looked drained and old for sure, and you are perhaps right, he was. But no one said that before the fight and that is the thing.
Manny didnt beat a better them? How do you gauge that accurately? Dont try to do it for Pac because you would have to do it with every fighter in history and its not possible to!
Hatton was trained by Senior Mayweather for the Pac fight. So i would think Hatton was as good as hed been for the fight with Pac. Hatton said he was much better after training with Senior and are you going to argue with hatton just because he lost. Its not Pac fault that Hatton fought the wrong fight, so dont try discredit him for it. And dont go saying PBF beat Hatton first shit.
Or i will say Pac knocked JMM down 3 times and beat JMM before PBF. And PBF only managed to knock him down once.

He might have beat them better, but he didnt beat a better them.
And the history books will show that Floyd fought Mosley, while Manny ducked him(even at 140).

History will show that Pac beat DLH and hatton better than PBF did, and that he also beat Cotto, when PBF didnt venture down those roads. He chose not to whatever reason. Cant change history now.
Pac gets extra brownie points however you look at it.

Everyone knows Arum wouldnt put Cotto in with Floyd so its not really an isssue, especially if Floyd beats Shane and Pac.
one last requirement beat Paul Williams at 154lbs then I can say that he is the greatest.
Beating SSM, Pac and then Paul WIlliams is good. But then if Pac beats Paul as well, then PBF will be in troube again.
floyd beat a much better and 154 DLH. pac fought a severely weight draineed and sickly looking DLH who didnt even have the energy to block punches with his gloves like he normally does...
PACTURD
So what you are saying is that Pac beat DLH much more impressively than PBF did, but there are reasons for it? WHy dont you just admit it then that Pac looked and did much better than PBF did against DLH then?
DLT was saying just because Pac stopped DLH, dont mean to say he did better than PBF? WHat drugs was he on when he made this comment?
If Mayweather beats those two which is a big IF, he can retire on that. But if Paul/ Martinez become much bigger names, Mayweather will face them.
Theres no 'IF' about it, Floydwill beat both Mosley and Pacquiao. After he beats them, he has nothing else to prove. Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez are worried about facing each other and Kelly Pavlik.
Mosley and Pac are eneough.
JMM was the P4P Number 2.
Shane was the P4P Number 3 and Number 1 WW.
Pac is the P4P Number 1.
He comes back and beats the The Top 3 P4Pounders no one can question him and everyone will bow down.
Absolutley right man. Mayweather will definatley fight Mosley net, Probably May 1st. Theres no doubt in my mind that Mayweather will win (Late Ko, easy UD win). If pacquiao beats clottey this sets up Mayweather-PAcquiao for November/December time.

you are damn right. he has to fight every possible threat then only people will shut up.. you know what i mean.
yes, especially if he wins both fights untouched. i think beating Mosley is a great start. just taking the fight is a great start for Floyd. i can't wait for this fight, if it falls through over some BS then we can forget about him. period.
lets play floyd fantasy fights!!!!!!
That's what fraud jr. fans are good at.
