Floyd Mayweather is likely to face Shane Mosley on May 1 at a site to be determined, according to a source.
Mayweather (40-0, 25 knockouts), whose scheduled March 13 megabout with Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs) did not take place due to a drug-testing controversy, is tentatively scheduled to face an opponent to be determined on March 13, likely in Las Vegas.
Andre Berto (25-0, 19 KOs) is scheduled to defend his WBC welterweight (147 pounds) title against the 38-year-old Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), the WBC super champion, on Jan. 30 in a highly-anticipated clash at at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.
Neither Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, nor Mayweather's adviser Leonard Ellerbee of Mayweather Promotions could be reached for comment.
One fight in five years doesn't boost up a resume,
its just a step in the right direction.
Well its a start, but sometimes people actually discredit for what he's done in the past which is kinda sad
Man if Floyd fights Shane it would really shut ALOT of people up... Other then Pac Mosley is the biggest challenge in the division and it would boost up Floyd's resume for sure:boxing:

ok..I agree with that....BUT.........
dont people say Berto fights like Shane? Well we see how easily Shane handled Collazo....then we seen how Berto struggled with the same fighter....
There is actually no way I see Berto winning this fight.....once Shane starts landing on that easy to hit chin then Berto will crumble....
Berto IS NOT knocking Shane out and he is NOT going to out box him for 12 rounds.....
Shane IMO will be the BEST fighter that Berto has faced.....and on the other hand Berto isnt even in the top 10 of opponents that Mosley has faced...:?!:
I dont see Berto going past 9 rounds honestly....dudes defense and stamina are questionable.....
we shall see....:439:
we can wager a few E points for the hell of it!!!
I dont want to wager because even though I like Berto, I want Shane to win by brutal KO to setup the super match with Floyd. Shane beat Collazo easy and I wont take that away from him but I honestly didnt expect that. I usually dont give guys excuses but maybe its legit that Collazo took the fight on super short notice and hut his hand early in the fight. I favor Shane alot because I think Nazim is head & shoulders better than Berto's trainer who had him circling the wrong way the whole Urango fight. Obviously Shane has fought the much better guys but he's also lost to a few of them so its not lik he was winning against all those great guys he's fought. It also has the thing where the old warrior is fighting the young lion and does he still have it in him to go into wars with a young fresh cat. This isnt a big slow Margarito. Berto is the only guy he's ever fought who is anywhere near his speed and he has some nice pop. I honestly could see anything happening in this fight. Anything
bet.......................??
and please rewatch Berto-Collazo....as a matter of fact please rewatch all of bertos fights....
Nah, I can see both guys winning. Collazo isnt a fair assesment though. Alot of guys have mad trouble with Southpaws. Even some of the greats do. Look at Williams losing to Quintana and having hell with Sergio.
Or Mayweather-Judah scenario..
Ray some of this Flomos are just as bad as pactards... I don't even try to correct them anymore.... I just let them be now...lol. what exactly did you guys feel you accomplished? because i was trying to make a statement that BOTH sides are equal on that subject...and isnt that correct? :lol1:
will Shane agree to the enhanced testing?
Mosley would do anything for a payday, And he already said he would agree to any testing but we already know Mosley was a cheater so he has no choice but to say yes.

Lol, I know how you feel JR...
hell yea that would be shameful. that would be "morales-pacquiao" status.

See its so funny because no one sees Floyd in that light. People think Mosley & Margarito have had long layoffs but by time Floyd's next fight comes around he will have only had 1 fight in 2 and a half years or 2 fights in 3 years. His name pops so much even in retirment that people dont even truly realize how inactive this cat has been. For him to fight someone like that in his next fight with all that inactivity shows how much of a beast he is to me. Like I told the Pac fans, could you imagine if the roles were reversed? What if Pac had 1 fight in 2 and a half years or 2 fights in 3 years and tried to fight an super active Floyd? He would get his ass tore up.
No one would give him any chance to win. The same even goes for Mosley or pretty much anyone in boxing. Floyd on the other hand is so good that people would favor him in every match and demand that he has to fight the elite right off the bat or he sucks. Margarito has been off for less than a year and he's going to fight Carson Jones in his 1st fight back and no one says anything. Floyds been more than twice as inactive and he has to fight the best of the best or he's a bum in everyone's eyes and he better win too
Floyd purposely put himself in that situation though. Mosley didn't sit out a whole year by choice. He sat out because Mayweather and Pac didn't agree to fight him and HBO was giving out peanuts for him to fight Berto so he had to wait until their new budget hit to get a better deal. The way Floyd came back and maintained his reflexes after being out so long does deserve credit though, I'll have to admit.
ellerbe and haymon are smart as hell when it comes to floyds career...People can say Floyd is ducking certain fighters, but he knows how to handle his business outside the ring.
It's to the point now of where I don't know if I would be interested in a Mosley-Floyd fight without knowing how Mosley looks right now because he's been off for a year. If Mosley beats Berto, Mayweather 100% needs to fight him or else I just don't know what to say.
